I transplanted a manual transmission into my Previa and had the dashboard out anyway to install the clutch pedal etc, so took the opportunity to install a keyless remote. I got it off ebay for about $15, it's a Chinese model LD-009-13P. This comes with several functions I didn't want/need so I pulled the unnecessary pins/wires from the unit's wiring connector. I used lock/unlock functions and flashing indicator lights. I did not use trunk release, horn function, and extra set of lock/unlock wires.

I used the Previa shop wiring manual to find what I think were the best attachment points for the wiring. This youtube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WZQ-QSWwuns shows another scheme of attachment points, but it was easier to me to keep wires under the dash instead of running them into the side panel area. I mounted the unit the same place as he did in the youtube video, with a piece of foam padding between keyless box and upper dash plastic secured with a plastic cable tie.

This is the box wired in prior to looming the wires and installing dash:

Wire runs are inserted into to existing wire bundle/looms, then into a wire loom to the new keyless box. Splices are soldered then sealed with paint on insulation, then fully taped then secured into wire bundles.

The wiring instructions with the unit are cryptic, but I was able to figure it out from this helpful web page: http://www.scribd.com/doc/70826072/CK-009-Keyless-Entry-System-Wiring. The Previa has a negative trigger system, and wires from the unit are connected to wires on the Previa as follows:

1: Theft deterrent (TD) box connector; This box on my Left hand drive vehicle is just to the left of the steering column. If you remove the knee guard dash panel under the steering column you will easily find this. It is attached to a bracket easily removed by undoing the two bolts and pulling to dislodge the rear bracket spring clip. This allows access to the orange connectors on the back. All necessary splices are to the larger of the two connectors.

-red from keyless box spliced to White/Red at TD conector (+ power always on)
-yellow and yellow/black from keyless box spliced together (common). I spliced theseb together at the keyless box and ran a single black wire to White/black pin 16 at TD connector
-white/black from keyless box spliced to Green/yellow pin 17 at TD connector (lock)
-white from keyless box spliced to Green Pin 18 at TD connector (unlock)

2: The brown wires from keyless box spliced in at the Previa's "combination switch" connector (the turn signal wires) at the steering column, also under the knee guard panel. Spliced to green/black and green/yellow

3: I attached the ground to a chassis ground under the dash that was convenient in coordination with a couple other circuits I had to also ground.

Works like a charm!

This is an awesome mod! $15.............seriously? What a deal. Thanks for the great write-up/tutorial! Sadly my Previa isn't getting used much anymore. If I start using it again I'll definitely do this to mine too. Tim

PS: Thought I would mention this mod will only work (easily) on Previas with the Theft Deterrent (TD) system. This is identified by the little red light mounted to the top-side of your fuse box cover (top center of dash). Tim

Yes, connections for my 94 are at the theft deterrent box so this mod is specific to w/theft deterrent, but you can still add the keyless system to any Previa with central locking (I think they all have it, my 92 donor van does not have theft deterrent, but does have central locking), just have to splice in at a different place.
