I just finished installing the new driver's door alarm switch and a half hour later I would be hard pressed to give you a blow by blow description of how and what order to do it in. It was so convoluted and required so much pre-understanding that mortal man could hardly prevail. I have never had a project, so small in scope, take so long. I have also never had to consult so many sources of information, a little tidbit here and a little tidbit there. So don't feel bad that you did it years ago and don't remember the details.

In the end however, you saved the day with one of your pictures. While reinserting the tumbler (w/ new switch snapped on it) I kept trying to reinsert the horseshoe wire clip from the backside forward. When that wasn't working, I tried to insert it from the forward side. That did not work either. I came in and opened up the post and you had posted a picture of the door handle. I could plainly see that the clip installed from the bottom of the handle, upward. It never dawned on me to try it that way.

The rest is history and it is all buttoned up and working. It took me a considerable amount of time to just put all the tools away. Now I feel like I am married to this creature and feel I don't want to part with it (which I must).

I do not feel that any of the other door/hatch switches are in jeoprady as this driver door lock must have been turned 1000 times for every one of the other openings. So I am sure those switches are still virgin.

LoL, thanks for your forgiveness. I rejoice as I leave Previa purgatory and move on to the better place. :wnk:.
