Do any of you have a working cigarette lighter? Mine is not working, there's no electrical power when I connect anything in it / checked all the fuses and no luck. Do I need to take the HVAC controls apart in order to determine the electrical issue that is not allowing power to the cigarette lighter?

If you've already checked the fuses, the next place to check is the back of the lighter. There is a fusible link mounted to the back of the socket. If this is blown you'll need a new socket assembly. Here's a picture of the FL. This face plate comes off fairly easy. There are 2 screws near the top, then you'll need to remove the ash tray & it's slider mount bracket. After that it will pull out far enough to disconnect wires.

Great info. I would not have thought to look back there for the problem.
I picked out the old stuff and soldered a piece of 14 gauge across to fix it on mine. If the factory set-up acted as an additional over-current device, hopefully the 15A circuit fuse will still prevent my van from burning down!

If the idea is to simply bypass, I'm pretty sure you could just pull the nut, then remove the fiber washer between the 2 conductors, then put it back together. Tim
