I'm looking to upgrade the rear coil springs on my '88 4WD Cargo van. Yes, it has coil springs! I thought all cargo models came with leaf springs but this is a windowless van that has coils in the back. I would like to beef up the coil springs to add more payload and maybe add 1 to 2 inches in the back. I read a post from one member who said he found Ford Aerostar van coil springs to fit, I wonder if they're any sturdier. I also read that 4runner coil springs could fit after modifications. What years should I look for? Anyone know of any other compatible vehicles?

Also, if anyone knows the specs on the rear coils, diameter coil thickness, spacing, I could start searching for existing vehicles with similar specs or aftermarket coils.

Thanks!

The perfect springs are in here. Somewhere. Depending on your loading.

When I'm done with my lightening mods, I'll weigh all four corners, do the math, and choose.
IMO new progressives are the only way to go.

Based on the rec of another member, I ordered a set from Rock Auto ("1" means a pair). Shipping was $15.00.
