Due to a new town ordinance about unregistered vehicle's in the town I live in I am cutting up and possibly parting out this van I picked up a few years ago. It is VERY rusty underneath but its only shows 85k on the odometer and even after sitting for at least half a decade I fires up immediately. Some parts I may want to hold on to, and I want to keep the engine intact, but I will sell the whole thing. Miscellaneous bits are definitely up for grabs. There was no AC. I've been doing my best not to destroy anything that could be of any value. I am located in Maine and I'm willing to ship. Email for fastest response. cstbikes@gmail.com

Here's that chrome wheel I mentioned. Sorry I only have one. Bonus points if you can ID the red car.

I want the sliding cargo door, but not realistic considering size, shipping, and location. BTW, Datsun 510 :wnk:..............can't see much of the grill, but looks like 69? Tim

Trust me you don't want the cargo door. It would be much easier to modify a window door than fix this one. And the Datsun is a '70

Sucks you're so far away. I would go $500 total, but it would be a hassle to crate and probably more than $150 to ship. I do have a commercial address w/loading dock (would help a little). PM me if you have an interest in going to all that trouble. Tim

Yeah it's going to cost way more than $150 to ship that from Maine to Washington as freight unless you have contacts in the business that can get you a deal.

The estimate I got for shipping The tranny/transfer case I got from another member here, from UT to CA was over $400 for insured freight w/ residential delivery and insurance.

You can ship parcels through UPS up to 150 Lbs each package. Together the transmission and transfer case weigh 150 Lbs. You would need to seperate the transmssion and transfer case and ship them seperately along with the other parts. It takes some extra labor to disassemble and package properly, but it was way cheaper for me to do it as parcels.

This way it was $120 total for two parcels w/ $2K insurance by UPS ground.

Fedex ground may also be an option. They are generally cheaper, but less reliable in my experience.

Yeah, it was a pipe dream. I thought about it last night and PM'd him saying not to waste his time getting a quote. Not worth it to ship so far (around 2,000 miles). Did you end up with that other transmission/t-case?

It looks like shipping is about $25 so I could do $100 shipped. This is for just the wheel of course, no tire. Lmk Thanks -Chris

I'm currently in the market for a 4x4 van with a 5-speed. If I end up with an auto, I might be interested in the conversion if you still have it by then (and if I can get the van cheap enough)...

Shipping would be to southern California though, so it would definitely cost me some bread...

Transfer case arrived damaged from UPS. Package was fully insured but they do not want to pay out on it. Claim denied. It has been a nightmare dealing with them. I've never had high blood pressure, but I think I do now! I don't think I will use UPS again after this.

That sucks! Now I don't feel so bad about losing out on that one. Did they say why they wouldn't pay (improper packaging, etc)? I'm not sure about UPS, but I know some places will deny every claim, then only pay out if/when they get a summons. Even then some places won't pay until the last couple days before the case is to be heard. Of course most people won't go to that much trouble (and they know it)......bastards :(:. I'm guessing if you keep checking the local salvage yards one will eventually show up. Over the past 5 years there's been (2) 5 speed 4wd vans in our local yards. Both were in nice shape too! I tried to buy the entire van the 1st time, but they refused to even entertain the idea. So I came back a week later to pull the drive train and the van was gone. I asked what happened and they said parts sales had been slow so they crushed it! It had only been in the yard for 2 weeks. Next one I saw I dropped everything and stripped it (same day). Here's a thread I started on that one: http://www.toyotavantech.com/forum/showthread.php?758-Score!!! Tim
