Codes when no check engine light?

i have trouble. The Previa is running terrible. Before starting a trouble shooting process, there is no check engine light happening, but might the ecu still be throwing codes?

Thanks Tim, I will in a couple few more days when the damn snow melts and I can feel my fingers again.

It has been days since I ran it. Does the CEU clear the codes after some amount of time or store indefinitley?

When the ECU initially stores a code, the CEL will typically illuminate for about a minute, then go out. Once a code is stored, it will remain there indefinitely until power is removed from the ECU circuit. Disconnecting the battery or having it go dead will also erase codes. Tim
