Hi Everyone,
I have a MasterAce Surf with the 2C-T engine. it runs fine except the turbo is leaking oil.
Can someone send me the Repair Manual for the 2C-T engine (RM025E) or at least the turbo pages.

Thanks
djman

Hi djman.

I can send these along to you. Problem is I can't figure out how to attach a PDF to a personal message.

Can anybody help a luddite out?

Matt

I just had my leaking turbo line fixed, but I had a shop do it. I can tell you that my turbo died shortly after fixing the line. My guess is the bearing was not getting proper pressure and it finally died. The new pressure probably advanced the symptoms. I'm installing a new chinese CT-12 turbo unit right now. It was only $260. Let's hope it works.

Hope it all works out! If you could start a instructional thread documenting the process with photos that would be awesome!!

I will also get a shop to do it, but most of the mechanics here won't fix it properly. Now with the manual I can check if its fixed properly.
BTW Where did you get the Chinese turbo from a shop or online?

What ever happens I will update my progress.

Good luck with your new turbo.

http://www.maxspeedingrods.com/toyota-turbocharger/toyota-townace-r20-2-0l-2c-t-ct12-turbocharger.html

They also have an eBay store, search "maxspeedingrods". Anyways, it was a hell of a deal through the website because they don't charge for tax or shipping and it's $20 less than the same one on eBay. It took about 5 days to arrive, oddly it shipped from California.

Thanks,
I will have to think about it considering with shipping its going to be the same price as the local turbo.

Funny thing about finding a specialist for the turbo is that, the only guy certified is asking for fixing the current turbo, the price of a new turbo. lol

careful with your oil pressure when you bolt it back up.
if it does not purge properly when you have re-assembled, you can quickly eat the turbo bearing.
When you re-start after all the work, fill the engine with oil, remove the oil filter, put a plastic wash basin underneath, crank until you see oil coming out of the hole, then stop the cranking, of course!.
take the oil filter and fill it to the brim, slowly, it takes a few go's, then screw it back on, should get oil pressure instantly once you start it.

i had issues getting pressure and i ate one of those chinese turbo's fairly quick.

if the red light stays on for more than about 7 seconds, do not be tempted to blip the throttle!. remove filter and purge as above.
turbo should be primed with oil on the bearing just before assembly about 20cc's.

Good info thanks. Hopefully the shop working on my van knows this stuff. They're supposed to be done by today.

Hey Gunflint, can I get a copy as well? My turbo just started making "screeching" noises. Trying to get all my ducks in a row just in case I have to replace. It will most appreciated.

Any update on how well the Chinese turbo is holding up?

I'm also in need of a manual if possible. Would be much appreciated!
