Hi guys,

I have scoured my shop manuals and cannot find this info anywhere. I need new wheels and tires for my 1981 Hiace and would like to know what the proper offset is.

I am considering the white "wagon wheel" style design, but am also curious if I can get the late-80s Supra wheels to work.

Also, my shop would like to know if it possible to buy new injectors for the "L" diesel motor, but again, I am having trouble finding part numbers and/or references to any shops that might rebuild them. Since this motor was sold in the U.S., is there any chance Toyota will sell them new?

Thanks for any insights or links that might help.

Jeff

Here's a service manual for the L- series engine, check it out if this is the one for your motor-

Do you have any photos of the rims? Are they 13" or 14"?

Here's a link to the injectors that should fit, scroll, down to the description section and it'll give you the cross reference numbers and the fitment for various vehicles the injector was used on-

good luck and keep up posted:thmbup:

You are the MAN! I checked the part #'s against ToyoDIY, my Hiace manual and the chassis numbers and that eBay listing worked! Ordered four of the injectors and that is a big relief. The air cleaner was pulled and the injection injection lines removed so we were concerned about re-using the original ones for fear of contamination.....having new ones in there will provide some peace of mind.

Thanks for the workshop manual link as well. I do have both the Toyota factory manuals for my Hiace and the L-series diesel.

The rims are not stock. They are cheap-o aftermarket ones, so I figure there can't be any oddball sizing at work. The truck is at my shop a few towns over and I haven't had a chance to pull the wheels off since it's tucked in back.

I was looking at some of the late 70's and early 80's models and some of them looked they have 5 lug bolt pattern... is your 4 or 5 lug? I don't think there were 4WD vans back then but I could be wrong?

It is a 5 lug, two-wheel drive. I think I've seen it is 5x114, but I haven't found anything about offset.

I flamed out on the fuel injectors...no longer available.

Does anyone have any overseas resources for Toyota parts that may be willing to sell / ship OEM parts that the US suppliers can't / won't get?

Still no luck on wheel offset, either...

So, I think good news: I found a shop on the West Coast that has said they can clean / test my existing fuel injectors, so we will go that route for now.

Also, the only reference I have seen to the second-gen HiAce wheel offset is the following: 5 x 114.3 pcd, offset 27

Does that seem correct to anyone?

Sorry to that link for the injectors didn't work, but on the upside sounds like you've come up with a good alternative!!

As for the rims, I would think possibly the old school RWD Toyota trucks would be the closest if not the same bolt pattern and offset.

I also had found somewhere online that's the bold pattern was 5x114.3 but was able to come up with the offset?

Good thought. Found one reference to it being ET20 on the similar era 2WD pickups. Does that to fall within the realm of possibility?
