I bought a JDM Supercharger (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FBN4BGA) to replace the one in my 96 that was dry of oil (http://rover.ebay.com/rover/13/0/19/DealFrame/DealFrame.cmp?bm=367&BEFID=96477&acode=342&code=342&aon=&crawler_id=339395646&dealId=mTwXRaR-HkMrEAOFqINyxg%3D%3D&searchID=&url=https%3A%2F%2Fautoplicity.com%2F3575173-standard-motor-products-ps368-engine-oil-pressure-sender-with-gauge%3Futm_source%3DShoppingCom%26utm_medium%3DCS E%26utm_campaign%3DShoppingComNOFITMENT&DealName=Standard%20Motor%20Products%20PS368%20Eng ine%20Oil%20Pressure%20Sender%20With%20Gauge&MerchantID=507376&HasLink=yes&category=0&AR=-1&NG=1&GR=1&ND=1&PN=1&RR=-1&ST=&MN=msnFeed&FPT=SDCF&NDS=1&NMS=1&NDP=1&MRS=&PD=0&brnId=2455&lnkId=8070676&Issdt=170409051300&IsFtr=0&IsSmart=0&dlprc=96.32&SKU=3575173) when I bought it, and I'm pretty sure is shot.
After getting various things like the throttle body, air intake, etc. out of the way, my manual has one removing the SC piece by piece, by-pass valve, pipes, etc., but the JDM unit is complete so I'd rather not start pulling it apart to get it in there.
Is there some sort of jujitsu that will allow me to remove and replace the SC without taking apart the adjoined pipes, valve, etc?
Or is the SADS bracket too in the way?
Going in from below? (A Previa dude I chatted with once in a parking lot mumbled something to that effect).
I also saw a thread where a dude removed the entire SADS bracket with the SC. It sounded heinous. I'd like to avoid that, too. Of course, I'd rather not drop the engine, either.
Would love to hear from someone who's removed and replaced the SC. I've only glanced around under the hood with intention and looked at my manual. I haven't started yet.
The extra problem is that I don't know where I'd get new gaskets (http://rover.ebay.com/rover/13/0/19/DealFrame/DealFrame.cmp?bm=367&BEFID=96392&acode=357&code=357&aon=&crawler_id=208580983&dealId=mF-cmOnfjuEjLLkPRETEng%3D%3D&searchID=&url=https%3A%2F%2Fautoplicity.com%2F9384298-dorman-917-160-turbocharger%3Futm_source%3DShoppingCom%26utm_medi um%3DCSE%26utm_campaign%3DShoppingComNOFITMENT&DealName=Dorman%20-%20Oe%20Solutions%20917-160%20Complete%20Turbocharger%20And%20Gaskets&MerchantID=507376&HasLink=yes&category=0&AR=-1&NG=1&GR=1&ND=1&PN=1&RR=-1&ST=&MN=msnFeed&FPT=SDCF&NDS=1&NMS=1&NDP=1&MRS=&PD=0&brnId=2455&lnkId=8070676&Issdt=170409051300&IsFtr=0&IsSmart=0&dlprc=470.77&SKU=9384298) and such if I have to start tearing the JDM one apart.
Thanks.
