Does anyone know if its possible to fit the AC compressor from a US van on a japanese version? USA 4x4 to 89 Townace 4x4? They definitely have different part numbers but it looks like maybe its the same except for the manifold? If it was just the manifold on top maybe I could buy the US version and mount the existing compressor manifold onto it?
The us parts are so much easier to get...
It also looks like it really sucks to pull it off the vehicle, anyone had any experience pulling one off a townace?

Hi Johnny, sorry to comment on such an old thread. Do you happen to have this AC compressor? I am in need for my 2c powered van. Thanks!

I'm looking for one for a 2C also. Did you find a source?

I know someone who pulled a favor for me. The sent the AC compressor from my 1991 2C motorhome to a place in AZ that does rebuilds of alternators, pumps, and ac compressors for Federated Auto parts.
They said "We have mounting benches for EVERYTHING, but not for this thing!" So the housing is definitely unique at least in the USA.
However, he opened it up and found the internals to be exactly the same as a Denso 14-2816NIP , 471-0133 I put both numbers because I'm not sure if they are both relevant.
Anyway, if you buy that denso you can move the guts right to the housing from the 2C. Hope it helps someone!
