Hello. I have a 89 4wd Auto Ovrdrve Dual heat/AC van. I have a front pad question. In the passed I allways put factory ~60$ "semi metallic" 4wd brake pads onto the front. Never new rotors. I know that the calipers are 2 pistons each. I understand from reading here, ant seeing some pics, that the "rear wheel drive" 80's vans have only one piston calipers. I read that some folks use "ceramic" pads on their 4wd vans (perhaps new or relined?). The question is: I recently bought generic 10$ "ceramic brake pads for 89 Toyota vans"for spares-not yet need replaced again. Will these fit into my factory 4wd dual piston calipers? Unfortuntly, I don't have an old metal/pad setting around.

If the pads you purchased are for a 2WD van than they will not fit on a 4WD. Below are some images from ROCKAUTO.COM. I cannot personally vouch for the accuracy of the following sketches but I would presume they are.
