I'm looking for that chart that layed-out the model years.
Specifically, because the vin badge plate on my van says August 1986, but according to the chart
my van is actually a 1987 due to the month it was produced.

I'm selling my van and I don't want the buyer to think I'm pulling some nonsense.

I think this chart was on TVT (Toyota Van People) but that site is/has been down.

Any leads appreciated, thanks.

New model years for most manufacturers start in July or August. For Toyota (with a few exceptions) anything made after July 31st becomes the next model year. For our vans this holds true except for the 1989 model year. Toyota was ending van production and had a lot of spare parts left, so they continued building into the 1990 model year period........but Toyota still designated those as 1989 models.

If you're ever in doubt of the designated model year, use the following chart. The 10th digit in your VIN is code for the designated model year. Example: all 1987 vans will have the letter "H" as the 10th digit of the VIN. Tim
