I really need some advice - Im about to buy a 91 supercustom turbo diesel....
I have zero experiance owning diesel vehicles and im worried that its going to be more trouble than a gas engine. I know the 2LT has issues with the head gasket blowing. should i risk it?
Ive had a 1988 super custom before - but it was gas
Or should i wait for a nissan caravan with the more relaible td27 engine?
Is anyone biased to either side? Im really torn because i want the van now, but its such a big investment id be devastated if the engine died.
Its in excellent cond. 50k miles, new filters, fluids etc. Unsure about whether i should have the timing belt replaced asap out of precauton only seeing as its maybe the original one for 27yrs.... even though the miles are low.
