power steering fluid

on auto pilot..i topped off the fluid with napa power steering fluid instead of tran fluid. i just replaced the power steering pump return line and so i needed @ 1/4 to 1/3 quart. damage done ? how quick should i be to freak out and when i do a flush -how. God i feel like a dummy for reading after acting

Power steering fluid shouldn't hurt anything. It's nice that the system was designed for Dexron ATF as it's cheap and plentiful. Power steering fluid will do the same job, it just costs more and comes in smaller quantities...........just don't put any in your transmission :LOL2:. Tim

What a relief, thanks for the response tim, after topping off i looked at my manual to make sure id covered all my bases and holey s- it says use atf...thank you ,
