I just got this 87 4WD LE yesterday, and after much research, found where the side mirror control switch is supposed to be on a 2WD (I don't have the 87 4WD owners manual, so finally found a pdf for the 86 2wd...)
It's right where the 4WD switch is...
I tried adjusting the mirrors manually, and no go, so I believe it is supposed to have a control switch somewhere.
The center console has an empty square hole about the right size, but no obvious wires.
What am I missing?
I'll have other questions on some more serious 4X4 details after I complete my research, but right now this is something I want to get adjusted for safer driving...

Wow. New one on me! (I was cussing that this is NOT a 4WD issue, but obviously it actually IS 4WD-specific.)
Based on the owner's manual, it's looks like it should be on your center console, passenger side. I don't have any auto 4X4s, so please report back whether that's the location or not.

Just throwing this to the ceiling to see if it stick: If there is an empty square hole in the center console, maybe the last person that put back that console after working on the pass side of the engine forgot to put the switch back in place. Maybe it's hanging loose under the console?

This is a pic of an 87 4wd LE power mirror switch and wire connector.
My power mirror switch does not work, I tried to clean it but the corrosion is to deep, so I forgot about it and manually adjust my mirrors.

Apparently it is in the center console (See T Amman's pic below), Hopefully the wires are still there, and a trip to pick N pull will find a similar switch in another Toy.
Thanks for the confirmation Amman!

So after work I found the connector tucked well under the shiftier mechanism, but a thorough search for the switch got me Nada. (I did find a lock that may help me get the back hatch lock in better operational form however)
So the switch gets added to the Pick and Pull list, along with a passenger visor if I get REAL lucky, an inside hatch panel... I think he had a rear wiper motor back there, need to see if its working or the other one even has power (now that I found the fuse panel...)
Thanks again everyone!

For the switch, check out THIS THREAD (https://www.toyotavantech.com/forum/showthread.php?6449-PARTING-OUT-1987-4x4-TV)! I'm seeing the switch in the first post, last photo.

Thanks Gwen! Yep, that's the switch I'll be chasing... Hopefully it was used on more than one vehicle.

Hey Outlaw,
I pulled this part off of my new parts van hoping I could help you out but the switch was busted. The part number I was able to find was 84870-22040. According to toyodiy.com (http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/xref?s=84870-22040&mU=on), this part was used on similar vintage Corollas, Celicas, Cressidas, 4runners, and Land Cruisers, so you should be able to source one locally easily enough.

Here’s a mirror control switch off of a 90 4runner it looks a little different but may work if the dimensions and connections match up. This switch is 2”H x 1.5”W

JDM, the connector on the 90 4runner is completely different. I think we need to stay pre 89 or so.
I picked up a switch from an 85 van today, Passenger side is good, I think the wires on the DS door are broken or disconnected... I took the switch apart and cleaned the contacts. so pretty sure the switch is good.

Thank you for the clarification, so where is your mirror control located?

Center console, post #4 showed a pic. Same switch as the 2wd in the dash vans.
