Hi there,
Just got my hands on a 95 estima, I'm real excited about it but need to fix my overdrive problem before I can take it out for some adventures. Fuse is fine, wiring looks fine to my untrained eye (o/d dash light still works), I want to disconnect this illusive thermo switch but I'm struggling to locate it. I've seen the pictures posted in the [Van overdrive issues] thread but I can't seem to find anything that lines up and I don't want to be pulling wires willy nilly incase I disconnect the anti-self destruct wire or something. I'm looking at the engine through the larger hatch under the driver seat (right hand drive), could someone point me in the right direction please?
Cheers,
George

Hi George and welcome to TVT!

I've moved your post to the Previa subforum because your '95 Estima corresponds to our Previas, not the 84-89 Vans. That does explain why you're not finding the thermo switch in the Van location!

If you determine that one of the existing Previa overdrive problem threads is discussing the overdrive issue you're experiencing, let me know and I'll merge this thread with the one you designate.

George,

is your Estima petrol or diesel?

It's a diesel

That’s the 3C-TE Turbo Charged Diesel it’s different engine and transmission to the Previa that we have here in the States, I’m not sure if anyone has a Factory Service Manual. But the predecessor to this van is the TownAce/MasterAce 2C motor and I think there’s a FSM posted in the Forum Diesel section that may help out.

You'll have a little digging to do in that section good luck!!
