How cold can it get before starting issues or need for a block heater? Planning a road trip through Colorado mountains in December and expecting some cold nights.

I was thinking about something like this.
https://www.amazon.com/Zerostart-3400065-Wolverine-Reservoir-Hydraulic/dp/B00PM950B8/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=magnetic+motor+heater+pad&qid=1605367630&sr=8-1

But I never go anywhere and I park in my garage :wall:

How did your trip end up panning out in re: to starting issues in the cold? I am also planning a trip this winter through CO, NM, and UT and was wondering about this. I run a 92 Toyota TownAce with the 2C non-turbo diesel engine.

The Townace did great! Camped in single digit temps and would fire right up
in the morning. No cranking or difficulties at all. I would treat my fuel with anti gel every time I filled up. Hot shots secret makes a great one-

The 16oz squeeze bottle makes it easy to measure your dosage.

I always took it easy till engine was at operating temp but never had an issue on our 2 week winter camp trip. Also put in fresh glow plugs and fuel filter before the trip.
