1996 S/C loading up and stalling when put into gear

If anyone has any advice on this, I would be grateful.


The van will run fine in park and neutral, but when put into gear or reverse and apply some throttle, it will bog out and stall.



I can do this over and over again. Switch to park, smooth idle runs fine. Switch to D or R, keep foot on brake, apply some throttle, spit sputter die out.



After sitting off for awhile it will start up quickly, but be very loaded up and missing for about 5 seconds before coming to a steady smooth idle. I can apply throttle in park all day, smooth.



As soon as park or reverse is engaged, and throttle applied, it loads up and dies out again.





I replaced fuel filter
Cleaned IAC valve and throttle body
full tune up
Also checked egr vacuum modulator, checked good, and vsv checked good.

I'm sorry to be so late with this reply. I have seen this happen on small engines that have carburetors and the problem is always with the fuel adjustment. Sometimes you have to adjust the carburetor and sometimes you have to fix the fuel pump or rebuild the carburetor. So, I think you have a fuel problem. Is your fuel pump supplying good pressure and flow? Are your fuel injectors clean? I wonder if the engine diagnostics connector could tell you what is wrong.
