Hi all. My '95 SC Estima cannot seem to hold supercharger oil. I fill it then check it a few days later and the level is at the E line. I asked around and people think its a seal in the SC that is leaking the oil to the intake manifold. Anyone ever replaced the seals on a supercharger? Are the parts available somewhere?

Thanks

I've had the same problem since the day I got the "Frijole Verde" from a friend around 2013-ish.
Well, I assume since then. But in reality I didn't think to check it until we (the van and I) had already been married for quite a few years. It takes sometime to get acquainted with a partner that comes from a species different than any other. :-)
So of course I wondered just how long that supercharger had been running with no lubricant in it. No way to tell though. My guess is quite a while. At first I did all the research on right stuff was. And I said no effing way am I going to spend that for that. So I looked at what would be a reasonable substitute and use something that was about a third of the price of Toyota's product, but I don't remember what that was now. Then when I realized how quickly it was draining out I figured it really didn't matter what I put in there as long as it was some kind of oil. So I tried leak stopping oil. Didn't seem to do much. I haven't checked it lately but my guess is it's going to be empty again. If by some miracle there's anything in there still, then maybe leak stop did the trick.
Interestingly, I could tell that mine is leaking externally because there's always lots of oil smeared under the vehicle around it. I still haven't been able to figure out where it's actually coming from. There's no telltale gasket area that prominently shows leakage. It's been a mystery.
I can think of about 450 things, off the top of my head, that I'd rather do than try to remove , reseal, and reinstall a Previa supercharger. And I really really wish engine stop leak would do the trick. But I do all my own work, just replaced the entire rear axle assembly, and I'm now trying to deal with finding a replacement crankshaft pulley and SADS coupler flange and rear window to replace the one vandals smashed out and eventually figure out why the hell that "door open" light won't turn off and figure out how to rebuild the distributor to replace the elusive mythical internal-internal seal (not the o-ring on the shaft)... but the supercharger I'd rather learn through insight from others than first hand experience through trial and error.

I've using GM Supercharger Oil for years. You need to check level regularly & change after recommended miles

Maybe I will try the stop-leak stuff. Can you recommend a brand/type? As for the "door open" dash indicator, it reminds me of wierd happenings with my dash lights, too. The low fuel indicator stays on even when the tank is full but every now and then turns off as it should. And the other day the OD indicator turns off even when disabled and shifting properly then comes back on when it wants.

I pity those poor souls who, everyday, sit in their modern, new vehicle, start it up, and endure the boredom and monotony of never encountering a surprise, glitch, quirk, mystery, malfunction, or warning light; who embark on road trips without ever experiencing the underlying sense of uncertainty that adds the adventure to the journey; who will never know those moments of joy and accomplishment that come from repairing or resolving a vehicle problem... After those hours or days of rage and frustration from having vehicle problems; and who will miss out on so many unexpected people, places, experiences, and adventures that come as a benefit from remote roadside breakdowns, necessary unscheduled detours, impromptu survival challenges, and the creative financial rearrangements that come as a result.
