I get intermittent Belt squeal when van is warm & turning steering wheel at a dead stop. My Alternator/ Power Steering Belt & feels like correct tension. I'm not seeing any Leakage from Pump. I'm at 380,000 miles with the original Alternator & Power Steering Pump. Van steers find & I don't feel any intermittent lack of power steering assist. I'm tempted to replace the Steering Pump, but new OEM's don't seem to be available & not confident in most rebuilt pumps I'm finding. Its also hard to change Pump without getting fluid over everything below, even if pre-draining the Reservoir.
Could the Pump be leaking internally? Or any other thoughts causing the squeal.

I don't think it's the pump. With high mileage vehicles it's not unusual to get "belt and pully glaze". The pulleys can can get super shiny "mirror" finish where the belt contacts them and the belt can get a hardened shiny surface too. That can create this issue. I would recommend replacing the belt 1st. If that doesn't do it, you could replace the pulleys. If you're on a budget, you could get the old pulleys sand blasted or you could try soaking them in vinegar for a few days (that should etch them). Tim

I get it when its cold sometimes, until it warms up. I checked the bvelt, the pulley, the alignment, I replaced a pulley bearing and it still does it, but only at random unexpected times. I decided I don't care.
