It is with great sadness that I am selling my 1988 4WD MT van. I sold out and bought an AWD Transit, am renting out my house for a year, and hitting the road, so it is no longer practical for me to keep it. It's been great being a part of the TVT community and I want to express infinite gratitude to everyone here for helping me keep my van on the road for the last 20 years. A lot of vehicle forums are full of douchery, but not here. Ya'll are the best and I'll be sad to leave.

Van is in Salt Lake City, Utah, VIN JT3YR36W8J0008584. Asking $6500 but for you, friend, I make special offer. I've got it listed on FB Marketplace (https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1866917220803994) and KSL Classifieds (https://cars.ksl.com/listing/9897983) if you want to see more pictures.

This van has been my daily driver for the last 20 years. It’s the best vehicle I’ve ever owned. It’s super fun to drive and gets compliments wherever I go. With true 4x4, a short wheelbase and a low range gear, it pretty much goes anywhere. The 2.2 liter 4YE engine is legendary for its longevity. It gets 18-22 MPG reliably (usually is worse in the winter) with 20 MPG being pretty standard.

I’ve maintained it meticulously over the years and swapped out tons of parts. It runs great hand has always been super reliable but obviously is showing its age in a few regards. The primary issue is rust on the body. I did a bunch of bodywork and had it painted in 2017, but the rust is showing through again in places. The van runs smoothly and has decent power for what it is, but the engine is showing signs of wear. It still passes Utah emissions but usually needs a timing adjustment to do so. The AC hasn’t been working for some time, it worked when I bought the car. Sadly, the icemaker requires the AC to be running on R6 to work.

Otherwise everything works great (barring the usual quirks like oil level light). This is the LE version with tinted windows, fog lights, power everything, etc. Manual transmission with manual locking hubs and transfer case (can shift between 2 hi and 4 hi at highways speeds once the hubs are locked). Upgrades include 15” wheels with new AT tires, lift with Bilstein shocks, auxiliary radiator, Warn hubs, etc. The van includes rear bench seat and two swiveling captains chairs (seating for 7.) Also included is a sweet bed platform with storage and cooler underneath, great for camping, very nicely built in a professional cabinet shop. It also has a custom-made 2" hitch receiver which was never commercially available for these vans. Also have a stash of parts including the OEM 14" wheels (available separately if you are looking for anything specific).

First off, amazing van... Call me a Toyota Van-natic, but I really really love these vans. I just bought an 87 4wd 5speed but it came without any rear seats
,like the previous van I had purchased. As much as I would absolutely love to purchase your Toyota,
I just don't have 6500 laying around... Although I may have more money to spare at mid summer, I highly doubt you will have this
Van in the next few months... I am looking for rear seats and any Xtra interior parts including power lock actuators.

Once again, sweet van
