I just had the AC gone through and all fixed up in my 1991 LE Previa. On the way home from the shop the light on the AC button on the dash started blinking. The light did not initially turn on so I assumed the bulb was probably dead. About 45 minutes into driving it the light went on and was blinking.

AC is blowing cold and blinking is a regular pattern.

Any ideas what might cause that?

I believe that era of Toyotas had AC diagnostics and the blinking is the system telling you there is a fault. While I don’t have the exact code chart for the 1991 Previa without further data, common A/C fault codes in similar Toyota systems include:

2 blinks: Low refrigerant pressure or pressure switch issue.
3 blinks: Compressor clutch or magnetic clutch relay fault.
4 blinks: Evaporator temperature sensor issue.
5 blinks: A/C amplifier or control unit malfunction.
The number of blinks in a repeating pattern corresponds to a specific code.
