Figured I might as well start a new thread to make it easier for someone to find in the future. As we know, my rear hatch weather seal is boogered up, with some tears including one with a significant missing piece of rubber. I have tried to seal it up for years by inserting some foam inside it, with some success but not good enough anymore.
I have another seal which has some smaller tears, but they are not missing any rubber and could possibly be repaired. Has anyone successfully repaired such tears in a rear weather seal using one of the many rubber repair products out there? I don't know if a weather strip adhesive is the right thing to use or not. The good thing is I can test it in place on my parts van, so if it doesn't work I won't have gone through much trouble. But I probably won't be able to get the adhesive off once it sets, so I'd prefer to get it right the first time
