So apparently the wires were not severed but are in a bad way. 12394 I think I should cut them, solder them and shrink wrap them. Id never soldered before so I took some scrap...
Those wires need to be fixed properly before you put the tank back in (solder and shrink).
I would also recommend slowing down a bit, the more things you disturb...
