previa automatic transmission mounts question
Anybody know if the Transmission mounts are interchangeable? My local parts store only lists one part number, but the OEM Toyota drawing shows two different part numbers? I am in process of putting a new remanufactured transmission in my 1993 and want to also replace the mounts. Thank you for any assistance.

Re: 93 previa automatic transmission mounts question
They look like you would just flip one around for the other side.
When you remove the old tranny, you can compare the two and know for sure.

Thanks for the reply. I was thinking the same thing. I already have them removed, but am away from home right now and was hoping to order some up today. I will check when I get back to homebase and report back, unless someone else beats me to it.
Thank you,
Blake

I checked into the mounts. Part number (12372) , which resides on the passenger side of the transmission has what appears to be a heat shield tack welded on to it. It is noticeable in the drawing above. My guess is this is to protect the rubber insulator from heat generated by the exhaust system. Otherwise the rubber insulators appear to be the same. The insulators are easily removed by removing one fastener. My plan is to swap the insulator from the new mount onto the old mount with the heat shield.
I will update once I get the mounts and complete the process.

Previa transmission mount bushings
Hi Previa fans. I have a '96 4wd supercharged model. I'm replacing the automatic transmission mount bushings. It judders especially taking off on hills. Any clues as to the best way to press the old ones out and get the new ones in?
Re: Previa transmission mount bushings
I suggest taking the mount to a shop that has a hydraulic press, I did mine at a shop and had to use a air hammer with cutter attachment and then pressed them in. The problem i had was not finding the right diameter cylinder to push the bushing out.

Thanks for the response. I found the bracket with two new bushings already installed on ebay for $80. By the time I buy the bushings and pay someone to swap em out it would probably cost more and take up more time. Cheers
