I am missing so many accessory/trim parts that at one point I started actively looking for alternatives. I have picked up all kinds of door handles, lock buttons and rear seat release buttons and...
Strange... I can't imagine anyone doing that on purpose, when you can just leave one out if you choose.
I took one out of a '63 Plymouth one time. It was the middle of a snowstorm... halfway...
Fan belt..? Idler pulley bearing..?
You could try using a piece of heater or even garden hose as a stethoscope/direction finder. Works with or without a funnel in the end.
Of course a...
Nice fix..!
For those that don't have CC material, it can be made by saving supermarket plastic bags and "ironing" them to the thickness you desire. Like this:

I use an FIPG. Keep in mind there is no pressure there... you just need to seal it. I guess I would use a gasket if I got one in a set... but normally I wouldn't waste a trip into town to pick one...
No Joy...
When I follow the email link I don't get anything but the Google warning now.
Hopefully you have found any issues and we'll just have to wait for Google.

Sometime before I started getting the Google notices I would get a page that looked like a hack job. Nothing bad seemed to happen... it was some kind of notice about downloading software.
I...
Lets talk about our about our vans!
If you want to fix it.

A hook tool and a can of silicon spray are a must for dealing with old plastic and rubber. I have used the hook to just slightly pick up an old hose and squirt some silicon in.

Are you sure that you have spark..?
It never fires at all..? Even a pop or two..?
Fuel, air and spark should yield fire.
You could always try a minimalist shot of ether...
I don't like...
The old analog clocks supposedly adjusted their rate by your adjustment of the time... I would guess based on a 24hr period. If the unit is "running fast" and you set the time back, it somehow...
Nice set-up and it looks like a first rate job.
Not to be a wet blanket or ruin anyone's morning cornflakes, but I think I would rather have my spare up front... on the front bumper.
I don't...
I'm in the process of installing a thermostat on a van I recently bought. It had an electric fan (switched) already but I wanted to install a thermostat. I bought the 3/8ths fitting, cut metric...
Regarding my daily driver... 86 2WD LE 317,000 miles. Day before yesterday... daytime, I turned my headlights on in a construction zone (law here in PA). I saw the blue high beam indicator was lit...
Mineral spirits works great but is expensive if you need tons of it. The engine cleaner in spray cans work ok and the spray is a plus for hard to reach areas. They smell like they are a relative of...
I would suspect salt air.
Not running the beach, but maybe spent a few seasons at a beach house or near the beach... possibly in a storm. Colder temps could cause some condensation inside the...
Since I plugged this Firefox add-on here, I thought I should update this thread. It may be leaning toward off-topic, though.
Favicon Picker 3 does work great, and I have added icons for my fave's...
So... change the oil already.
What do you have to lose if you are driving it anyway?
It can be time consuming... especially if you are new to working on TV's. Think of it as time well spent getting to know your van. Like spending time with a new girlfriend. The more attention and...
I have never used them or know anyone who has, but I have heard good things about JIS. I would consider them and do more research, of course if /when I need an engine. I heard that they consider...
That sure sounds like your battery is a problem... or perhaps your terminal connections are very loose. How did you test your battery?
I've heard that can happen as one gets along in years...
I would be interested in the "old leaky pipes" when/if anyone replaces them. Don't destroy them taking them off.
I'd like to try sleeving and brazing them where needed.

It is my understanding that 5W30, 10W30 and even 0W30 are all 30 weight oil. The other number relates to their density at colder temps before you crank it over. 5W30 may be better for someone...
It looks like there are three or four discussions going on here... the original Seafoam where-to thread, the new flushing machines and synthetic oil and other additives.
I have been leery of the...
Yes... only what is added through the intake manifold will smoke.
Hopefully, what you add to your oil will never burn and what you add to a tank of gas is too dilute to smoke much if at all.
-Jim
Keep in mind, whatever vacuum line that you pick, you are not sending it through the PCV valve or through the brake booster or through any other component.
Pick a line that leads to the manifold...
I'll try to get a pic either today or tomorrow, but would I fall in the trusted or untrusted category..?
On any vehicle I have looked for the most easily accessible, largest vacuum line I could...
I've used it. I used the brake booster line or a large vacuum line. You can put some in a container and dip the hose in and out to keep the engine from stalling.
I followed the directions except...
I've done them both ways, but I prefer pulling the intake now. I have all my rubber and plastic pretty well conditioned with CRC Silicon spray now, though. I keep a can in my toolbox and spray...
This is only for Firefox users...
I just installed Favicon Picker 3.
Works great. It lets you add favicons to bookmarks that don't have any... or replace ones that you don't like. It...
Well... you are welcome to use the one(s) I made if you like them. I think someone more talented could do better, though.

Here is something I did to clarify the concept.

It works for me as well... thanks everyone.
As far as something easily identifiable goes, consider the cargo van from the site logo... the one with "TVP" on it.
Or perhaps since the front end...
No big deal really, but I just noticed I don't get one of the little bookmark icons for this site. Makes it a little easier to spot in a list of bookmarks.

An interesting update to my original post on the nozzles.
I was with my brother when he took his '87 Nissan Van through a car wash. When we were leaving we noticed that his indicator light for...

Thanks Tim
Keep in mind that there are 2 rubber hoses on the high pressure line. If your leak is under the driver's seat then it is the same problem that I had and the hose is not easily...
Hey Glohworm & skyflyer9
I like it... very elegant in it's simplicity. It proves once again that invention serves necessity.
True art, however is the ability to visualize the next "David" or...
This is something I did about 8 years ago. It has held up well and has been on two vans. It is all aluminum and vinyl... won't rust and is probably stronger than the original.
First gather the...
I recently bought an '88 2WD LE Auto, and soon discovered a leak in the power steering high pressure line. The general area was easy to spot, on the rubber hose near the banjo connector to the pump,...
My daily driver, an 86 LE 2WD AT with 305k miles is shifting hard into 2nd. Based on what I have read this sounds valve related. I have another '86 with a good transmission that I could swap in.
