  1. Re: Wheel offset for 1981 Hiace and fuel injectors rebuild / replacement (2.2L L dies

Good thought. Found one reference to it being ET20 on the similar era 2WD pickups. Does that to fall within the realm of possibility?
  2. Re: Wheel offset for 1981 Hiace and fuel injectors rebuild / replacement (2.2L L dies

So, I think good news: I found a shop on the West Coast that has said they can clean / test my existing fuel injectors, so we will go that route for now.

Also, the only reference I have seen to...
  3. Re: Wheel offset for 1981 Hiace and fuel injectors rebuild / replacement (2.2L L dies

I flamed out on the fuel injectors...no longer available.

Does anyone have any overseas resources for Toyota parts that may be willing to sell / ship OEM parts that the US suppliers can't / won't...

    Re: Collector Car Insurance

I haven't made the jump to Haggerty yet, but I will when mine is closer to completion. I've used JC Taylor for years, but they don't cover vans in any form.

Haggerty was way more expensive than...
  5. Re: Wheel offset for 1981 Hiace and fuel injectors rebuild / replacement (2.2L L dies

It is a 5 lug, two-wheel drive. I think I've seen it is 5x114, but I haven't found anything about offset.
  6. Re: Wheel offset for 1981 Hiace and fuel injectors rebuild / replacement (2.2L L dies

You are the MAN! I checked the part #'s against ToyoDIY, my Hiace manual and the chassis numbers and that eBay listing worked! Ordered four of the injectors and that is a big relief. The air cleaner...

    Hi guys,

I have scoured my shop manuals and cannot find this info anywhere. I need new wheels and tires for my 1981 Hiace and would like to know what the proper offset is.

    I am considering the...
  8. Re: Potentially purchasing an '81 HiAce - stuck throttle?

Danny, this is great info! Thanks so much. Apologies for not responding sooner.

Am I correct to assume the motor is the same as found in the early Hilux sold in the U.S. (I believe it is the...
  9. Re: Potentially purchasing an '81 HiAce - stuck throttle?

No worries. Thanks for the link!

Also - am I correct that this is simply referred to as the "L" engine?
  10. Re: Potentially purchasing an '81 HiAce - stuck throttle?

Good to hear. I will ask about whether he touched the fuel injection screw or not, see how he responds. Are these motors interference or is it relatively painless if the belt slips off? Going to...
  11. Re: Potentially purchasing an '81 HiAce - stuck throttle?

Thanks for the reply. I'm going to be flying a bit blind on this one, as I'm in Rhode Island and it's in Tennessee. I have one weekend to go down and do the deal then ship it back up. The seller...
  12. Potentially purchasing an '81 HiAce - stuck throttle?

    Hey guys,

So, this is my very first sojourn into the world of Toyota van ownership. I'm negotiating a purchase right now for a 1981 Toyota HiAce. I've been in the old-school BMW world for quite...
