That sounds like it very well could be the culprit! My washer fluid pump quit recently and the fan has never worked so it seems like sooner or later I need to pull apart the dash. Not looking forward...
Hey all, during an intense thunderstorm today I noticed a small drip behind the glove box on the far left side. I remembered reading here about a water leak that sometimes wreaked havoc on the van's...
Ended up taking it to a shop another Toyota Van owner recommended and they found the issue! There was a block heater installed in place of a freeze plug on the side of the block and it had failed....
Is this spot to the left of the HOD looking in from the access hole?
Head gasket is something I'd also considered and yeah I'm pretty attached to the van and it's otherwise in pretty good shape so I don't really want to use a stop leak product. I've tried getting in...
I accidentally cut my first access hole right at the "second hose of death" so I can clearly see it and I'm pretty sure it's.not leaking there. Are there any metal coolant tubes I wouldn't be able to...
Hey Tim, I just got done replacing the HOD and tragically my van is still leaking. I've been browsing the site for awhile trying to figure out what would cause coolant dripping off the bell housing...
Hey all, my front washer has suddenly stopped working! I don't hear a pump sound anymore when I push the button. Is this more likely an electrical issue or a pump failure? Thanks!
afraid not!
Didn't know where was best to post it, sorry. I can get pics at some point but it's up in the rafters rn at my garage
Have no need for mine anymore and feel weird throwing it out. It's not super clean but I'm open to trades or just giving it away. Located in Vancouver BC
It's actually wet! I've wiped it up now so can't really smell it. Fluid levels seem fine, she seems to burn a lil oil but not to the point it's a concern. If anything it looks like it could've come...
That sound deadening stuff is definitely very rotten but this seems like motor oil. I guess it could be from the previous owner changing the filter? I've had the van a couple years and I don't recall...
Any idea where this could be coming from??? Thanks y'all!

Thanks Tim!
Anyone know what bulb the cornering light takes? My left one has never worked, pulled it off to check the bulb number and there's no bulb
Much to my dismay, no torque spec. If it's leaking it's too loose, if the washers disintegrate it's too tight. Should be one washer for either side of each banjo hose end (4 total)
Thanks Tim! I ended up just torquing them down real tight and the top crush washer squished quite a lot, to the point I was a little worried I overdid it but she ran for 20 minutes with no leaking I...
Hey Tim, is the torque spec for the banjo bolts important or should I just make them real dang tight? Can't fn the spec in the service manual. Thanks!
Hey everyone! Anyone know if the heater inlet hose (87245-87014) is NLA? Can't seem to find any on the internet. What exactly would be the downside of going with regular ol 5/8 hose?
Hey! Did your FRAM filter come with crush washers? If not, does anyone know the part number for correct size crush washers? I've been burned by incorrect supplied ones before
Also, anyone...
I haven't checked the codes in awhile, I know my o2 sensors have been toast since I got the van a year ago though. I'll check the codes. Thanks again Tim!
Not sure I'll be able to reuse the existing fitting anyway as the bolts are seized as hell. Maybe some time soaking in penetrating oil would sort it out. But do the symptoms I'm experiencing sound...
My van has a severe rattle on the underside from the loose honeycomb material in the catalytic converter. Should be on the driver side right behind the front wheel.
Hey Tim, my cat has been rattling like crazy at idle as long as I've owned my van and now I seems to have stopped + the van is severely lacking power. It also occasionally stalls immediately after...
Nevermind! Just re read that its the cig fuse not the charge fuse! Hopefully that's the problem.
roflroflroflrofl! I was just pumping up my tires with a 9 volt compressor and I accidentally pulled out the cord from the plug. Must've shorted because I no longer have power in the 9v outlets and no...
Hey all, my Chilton service manual doesn't seem to have any info related to the water pump replacement. Does anyone here have any relatively detailed or illustrated resources on it? Feeling a little...
So rear heater inlet A goes to a pipe that then connects to rear heater inlet E and onto the heater core? Makes sense.
And the breather hose just vents coolant through the filler neck out to the...
Oh also, pardon my ignorance but where does the breather hose go?
I'm a little confused Gwen! The image that shows the rear heater seems to suggest the heater core and rear heater are separate parts and that the coolant goes through the rear heater, then the heater...
Thanks Tim! I'm in BC so this should be a viable option for me. Cheers!
If you take the clips off the trim around the sunroof you can get between the headliner and the body. I've had some luck reducing rattle by stuffing some foam in there. Not sure it'd put enough...
Is the NLA part the arm itself?
My service manual makes no mention of how to drain the power steering reservoir, only how to top it up. Is this simply unnecessary? I have been draining and replacing fluids one by one and figured...
Are the upper control arm bushings NLA? I only see "front lower" on RockAuto.
I took a crack at it! For anyone looking to repair your switches, I posted some short videos on my Instagram that might help although I had somewhat limited success. I couldn't figure out for the...
Hey Tim, have you got any experience rebuilding power lock switches? I was having a problem where my power lock switch would lock the doors but not unlock them. At first I wasn't sure it was the...
I seem to have a small leak in the hose to the overflow tank. I guess it's part #90099-33393 but it seems to be NLA. Anyone know where I can find this?
Yeah rough shifts are exactly what I'm trying to avoid so I lowered it and it has indeed helped! Thanks for the clarification.
Is this poster wrong? I think I might have seen this and been misinformed

I'm a little confused tim, awhile ago I adjusted the idle per my service manual and I swear I read 1250 for park and 750 for drive???? Am i way too high? Was thinking it'd be nice to have it lower to...
Good idea! I'll pick one up. Thank you
Hey Tim, I just yesterday did a flush, but not quite as thoroughly as I would have liked (I couldn't find the 5/8 tee you mentioned in your writeups so I just put the hose in the radiator fill cap...
An update for the use of others, opened up the door panels and thoroughly cleaned the rubber seals with rubbing alcohol, added silicon lubricant, no more problems!
You are missing a small clip that stops the little flap at about 90 degrees. I think it's a guide that helps the sunroof close? In any case I've successfully jerry rigged a clip out of an old retail...
I recently replaced my ATF filter with a FRAM one and it came with a new tranny pan gasket, I didnt use any sealant and haven't had any problems with leaks.
If that were the case wouldn't the driver's door unlock but not the others? Or does it have to complete the circuit before it unlocks all the doors?
