Re: Water leaking in behind glovebox

Oh I'm familiar with the fuse box, have chased down a couple electrical gremlins in my time lol. I just remember reading a leak from behind the glovebox has been known to make its way to the fuse box...

That sounds like it very well could be the culprit! My washer fluid pump quit recently and the fan has never worked so it seems like sooner or later I need to pull apart the dash. Not looking forward...

    Water leaking in behind glovebox

Hey all, during an intense thunderstorm today I noticed a small drip behind the glove box on the far left side. I remembered reading here about a water leak that sometimes wreaked havoc on the van's...

Head gasket is something I'd also considered and yeah I'm pretty attached to the van and it's otherwise in pretty good shape so I don't really want to use a stop leak product. I've tried getting in...

I accidentally cut my first access hole right at the "second hose of death" so I can clearly see it and I'm pretty sure it's.not leaking there. Are there any metal coolant tubes I wouldn't be able to...

Hey all, my front washer has suddenly stopped working! I don't hear a pump sound anymore when I push the button. Is this more likely an electrical issue or a pump failure? Thanks!

Have no need for mine anymore and feel weird throwing it out. It's not super clean but I'm open to trades or just giving it away. Located in Vancouver BC
  13. Re: Oil Mysteriously Pooling behind driver's seat by battery compartment????

It's actually wet! I've wiped it up now so can't really smell it. Fluid levels seem fine, she seems to burn a lil oil but not to the point it's a concern. If anything it looks like it could've come...
  14. Re: Oil Mysteriously Pooling behind driver's seat by battery compartment????

That sound deadening stuff is definitely very rotten but this seems like motor oil. I guess it could be from the previous owner changing the filter? I've had the van a couple years and I don't recall...

    Re: Changing the fuel filter

Much to my dismay, no torque spec. If it's leaking it's too loose, if the washers disintegrate it's too tight. Should be one washer for either side of each banjo hose end (4 total)

  21. Re: Getting to know all the coolant hoses of your Vanwagon!

Hey everyone! Anyone know if the heater inlet hose (87245-87014) is NLA? Can't seem to find any on the internet. What exactly would be the downside of going with regular ol 5/8 hose?

  23. Re: Hollowed out catalytic converter bad for engine?

I haven't checked the codes in awhile, I know my o2 sensors have been toast since I got the van a year ago though. I'll check the codes. Thanks again Tim!
  24. Re: Hollowed out catalytic converter bad for engine?

Not sure I'll be able to reuse the existing fitting anyway as the bolts are seized as hell. Maybe some time soaking in penetrating oil would sort it out. But do the symptoms I'm experiencing sound...

  30. Re: Getting to know all the coolant hoses of your Vanwagon!

  32. Re: Getting to know all the coolant hoses of your Vanwagon!

If that were the case wouldn't the driver's door unlock but not the others? Or does it have to complete the circuit before it unlocks all the doors?
