That should just be the brake light or stop lamp switch attached to the brake pedal. I've never had cause to look at this in detail but it appears there is a separate cancel switch and brake/stop...
Dang. I sharpen things with files and grinding wheels for work so my brain automatically goes to "Can I fix it?" on those types of things first.
My understanding was that auto vans have a sandwich type oil cooler between the filter and the mount and the manuals did not but I could be wrong. I am also unsure if 4WD made a difference in this as...
Can you file/sand out the dent? Just make sure there are no sharp edges.
Hi Previologist. Your info lists the PNW as one of your locations. Are you currently there and what part of the PNW? Maybe I can assist in person. PM me if you prefer to maintain privacy.
FYI, those things are massive. I recently went down this road with one of my vans when I upgraded to the 105 amp Suzuki Denso alternator and had a hard time finding a good place to mount it. For the...
This should get you through the diagnostic codes.

Thanks for the info and the quick reply:thmbup:
The search bar is your best resource.
I searched, "fuel filter"

How do you like your oscilloscope? I used to have an old FMC Engine Analyzer with o-scope that was the size of a small car but didn't use it enough to justify the floor space. I've been thinking...
Ok. The OP specified problems with no blower fans. If your fans are turning on then the resistor should have no bearing on your issue.
For starters, any information I can provide applies to USDM...
I hate to see someone potentially waste money so I would suggest starting with checking the fuse first if you haven't done that yet and then a test light to confirm you have power at both sides of...
I have no experience with the Liteace specifically but on the USDM vans the clutch and brakes do indeed share a reservoir. The clutch hose is mounted up higher on the side of the resevoir so if you...
Try putting it in reverse and see if the reverse lights get brighter. If they do, then you likely have an issue with your taillight ground.
Hard to tell in the video. Could be the belt, idler pulley, compressor clutch bearing, or electric fan bearings..
So I just realized in your first post you said this is a Liteace. I apologize, I was going off of Van/Townace. I dont know what the differences will be as I have very little experience with the JDM...
One easy way to tell is pipe diameter. The smaller diameter pipe is high side larger diameter is low side. The pic in your last post is behind the right side seat(passenger seat for LHD driver seat...
A list of the part numbers and, if possible, their descriptions could prove to be helpful.
Have you tried searching the forum? I'm pretty sure there is a thread somewhere where someone was able to find a generic marine part that was a suitable replacement.
Definitely looks like an aftermarket cruise control. I would leave it disconnected. It adds an otherwise unnecessary variable to your troubleshooting. I can't zoom in far enough to see where it...
Have you pulled and inspected the condition of the spark plugs? Reading the plugs can tell you a lot about the way the engine is running as well as the individual cylinders.
The input is different spline and different length. It requires a near complete teardown of the transfercase but there really isn't anything complex to the job and yes, once it's swapped the t-case...
Hey Tim, out of curiosty what is the unladen weight of a 2wd? Both of mine are 4wd and are in the previously mentioned 37-3800# range. I've pondered the difference on occasion.
Interested in the timing light and analyzer. Pm sent
The model/chassis number is on a tag under a little carpet flap in front of the passenger seat.
This is for US spec gasoline vans.
Coolant capacity (w/H eater):
2WD wi0 Rear heater
7.9 liters (8.3 US qts, 7.0 Imp. qts)
wi Rear heater
8.4 liters (8.9 US qts, 7.4 Imp. qts)
4WD wlo Rear...
Do you mind if I ask the cost and location of the recore?
My apologies if I steered you wrong, I didn't notice you have a JDM van. As far as the rail is concerned, I have replaced a number of windows on a number of vehicles over the years and I dont think...
Aside from presence or absence of factory tint the door glass should be the same for all years.
The front light has a courtesy function that keeps it on for 5-10 seconds. Are you waiting long enough for the timer to shut off?
Be nice.:wnk:
Hi Ian!
The front cable is the same for 2wd and 4wd, the rear cables are not. When I broke mine a few years ago it was not available anywhere and there were no vans in any of the reasonably local...
Yes, that is the one.
The first thing I would check is driveshaft u-joints. Your lift changed their angle of operation and if they were already a little worn the lift may have pushed them over the edge.
Take a look at these too.

That's a very interesting look into the front structure of the vans.
If I were in that situation I would probably test for power at the fuel pump first and then if no power, dig through the fuel...
That's the power steering pressure hose that goes from the pump to the steering rack. Assuming this is for the 86 listed in your profile, I would think this is more likely the appropriate hose....
As always Tim, nice work. It looks amazing! Where did you source the aluminum valve cover?
Leaf springs are relatively easily manufactured. Try Googling leaf springs in your location and you'll probably find a local manufacturer that can make them to match the proper specifications. You...
Unfortunately, while there is a diesel specific section, this forum is largely dedicated to 1984-89 US market gas powered vans and 1991-97 US market gas powered Previas. You should be able to find...
FYI, those hoses are metric. SAE sizes will not fit well. I tried all different manor of alternatives when I did my head gasket a number of years ago before I finally went to the dealer who was still...
Are you having to replace gears or just bearings and seals? I was able to get a Timken rebuild kit from rockauto for my '88 USDM van that included bearings and seals. Some people swear by the Koyo...
4runner/truck rear axles are wider by a few inches necessitating customization to fit as well as wheels needing a front wheel drive offset again requiring custom wheels which is why there is...

What are the date codes?
My '88 owners manual does not specify a speed limit for 4WD operation.
Your speedometer is cable driven. Check the drive cable for damage particularly the 90 degree fitting at the transfer case.
