    MT - been awhile since I crawled under but IIRC, the frame rail shouldn't be that close to the engine.
    Is it possible that its the transmission stiffener plate, that is in your way?

    That type of problem isnt typically caused by a faulty auto transmission.

    Putting a higher rated fuse than what is called for is not a good idea.
    The fuse is there to protect the circuit in the event something goes wrong, bigger fuses tend to cause fires.
