Yes. If you want them, let me know & we can meet up. We can show off our new vans. Unfortunately my new one isn't a Toyota but it is from the 80s and only has 24k on it .
Unless you are experienced at remanufacturing you'll probably just want to buy a reman. Look on rock auto, & ebay to see what comes up... On occasion FCP Import has some good prices on Toyota stuff...
I looked at the paper work from my van & along with the MC the rear proportioning valve, rear cylinders, front pads & rotors were all replaced.
The valve was $70, & the master cylinder was $120 -...
Have you checked the bulbs? It sounds like there is something blowing fuses & possibly bulbs?
Totally normal & a could sign that your fuel system is healthy.
It's the master cylinder. It's under the dash on the driver's side. I believe it's a common somewhat weak link on toyotas of this vintage. I know it was replaced on my van.
The previous owner...
NEW Lower Prices - buy both the hose kit & the belt kit for $100 shipped - I kept these hoses & belts in my van for backup. Maybe you should too....
PM sent with payment details.
Sadly, my wagon was towed away yesterday. The insurance payed me diddly - selling some stuff & saving up for my next van. So thanks.
There are a lot of youtubes on this subject. Many driveway/backyard guys seem to do it without much hassle.
I know sometimes its a challenge to remove the glass without breaking it. & you'll want...

KYB, you wont be disappointed.
Your van probably wouldn't restart because of Hot Soak, which could be exasperated by the fan not kicking on. Flip the drivers seat & start your van. Does the fan kick on?
1 week after having my front end totally redone, someone sideswiped & hit my parked van. It appears that the driver side tie rod has snapped. I'm not sure if its the inner or outter tie rod. But what...
Yeah, seems like there might be a bad diode in the alternator.
However, I don't think the voltage at the battery should read 14V all the time if the battery is fully charged. I was under the...
It will definitely run rich when the fpr goes. In my experience once the fpr goes its only a matter of a couple of miles until the plugs are completely fouled & are inoperable.
Are you getting...
That's really funny. My fan probably started to stay on right about when yours did. I bet the temperature change & contraction has something to do with it.
I will say I'm not too upset with my fan...
Make sure that you aren't leaking any power steering fluid. Lift the seat & turn the wheel to see if it's squirting out any of the power steering pump seals.
Otherwise, disconnect the cables from...
I can also confirm that the Moog Ball Joints are 555 Made in Japan. I also ordered from Rock Auto.
They look a whole lot nicer than even the Made in Japan Beck/Arnley (not 555) that I received....
Awesome. I think they are called 'problem solvers' right? - you had to buy two of them?
Yeah, I need to do the endlinks & saw they have the kit for pretty cheap. Where did you purchase from?
There have been a lot of complaints with Moog selling the same Made in Korea repackaged stuff. If you are ok with the Made in Korea parts then just buy the inexpensive CTC brand parts. Its the same...
Thanks Tim. I've read your old TVP posts on balljoints & you had about the same luck as I did with mismatched parts. From the photos I can you have some of the same CTC marked units. Our uppers look...
Can probably always sell it to someone here.
The cool thing about the 4wd's is that the balljoints & the control arms are one unit - so you get new control arm bushings when you do the balljoints. Replacing the control arm bushings on the 2wd...
If I was in this situation I think I would try to find a working OEM fan in the yard swap it out & see what happens.
Awesome! You might've done yourself a disservice by letting the cat out of the bag. Tim is a known hoarder & probably owns the rest of the inventory by now. :LOL2:
It's a pretty easy job as long...
So, I'm trying to get an alignment after replacing my rack & pinion & the shop says 'no' because the lower balljoints need to be replaced.
So I ordered the beck/arnley lowers & uppers (since the...
I recently replaced mine with the updated spider & cables that I bought off Ebay for $30. I just got lucky on that one.
The major upgrade is the cables with a teflon coating. & the original...
Thanks Tim, at that price I can get my whole order cheaper than one hose. I think I'm going to stick with the Made In USA Raybestos / Spicer / Dana.
Rock Auto has great prices but they do need to...
Ok, I think I might just go with the Raybestos hoses on Rock Auto. I've heard they make good products & the Sway/Stablizer bar bushings ship from the same location.
I only need two sway bar...
Thanks Tim. You know I haven't checked with Toyota to see what they charge for these.
I agree with you on Rock Auto; I need to get Sway Bar Bushings too but I don't want to pay shipping from two...
Other than replacing pads & rotors I've never had to deal with replacing brake lines. I noticed that one of my front lines is cracked & while I'm finishing off my front suspension I want to get them...
Just below 1/2 is normal on my van.
Wow, cool. Wish mine only had $61K.
Post some photos of your van. I'm guessing Brougham is a conversion package of some sort.
Check which fuse the wiper nozzles are on - I can't remember. Then...
So Mahleek - what method did you use to do the bushings? Brut force? Or did you take them to Toyota?
Very Cool. This is better than having an off switch.
But I love what would have made this impossible for me is just a little hiccup for you. Congratulations on sticking with your idea & seeing it...
Check the plugs to make sure they aren't fouled or wet with gas. I once had a fuel pressure regulator blow on me that resulted in an extremely rich mixture = no start. Even after I changed the...
Thank you Tim.
So I take it that the wider filters were made for the 4wd's since they couldn't have a long filter in them they needed to go out.
There is a lip on my auto 2wd that won't fit the...
When was the last time the fluid & filter were serviced? How does the fluid look?
Is temperature a factor?
How many different filters are there for these vans? Manual vs Auto / 2wd vs 4wd?
I was using the small Toyota ones for my 87 2wd. But this time I picked up the Napa Gold & the filter they gave me...
Awesome Tim! I'm glad to see that you are experimenting with Aux fans. Where did that fan come from or where could one find a similar fan?
I think the override switch is a great idea....
Welcome to the site!
Living in central Texas I can appreciate a good northern snow story. Thank you for reminding me of my northern days.
I don't have a 4wd - I wish I did, but then again, it...
Thank you Arp - this fix might be easier than the original TSB.
Cirrus - be sure to measure the gap before the radiator so you know how thick of a fan will fit in that space.
After a few other...
Well that link goes to the thread about making the engine lid / seat holder out of bulk wire, but I think what we are all beating around the bush about is you may want to cut & ground the temp....
Thank you for correcting me. My memory is sometimes warm & fuzzy too, I apologize. For some reason I was in the understanding that you blew head gaskets before you realized the fans weren't...
John, you might want to read through some of the Hot Soak & Electric Fan threads over at TVP. If your hot soak is that bad you might want to try some of the other remedies until you get yourself a...
Cirrus - You may want to make note that Tim's set-up, while a good design in theory, left him with two blown engines. Its one of the first things he mentions in regards to the design.
I think when...
When I lived up north that's the kind of lifetime I would expect out of an after market exhaust system.
What did you install in 2006? Was it the Bosal cat back unit? Tim says that Toyota still...
