Thank you!
Are the 2WD and 4WD front brake rotors the same (I'd be surpised)
How about the Calipers?
Getting back to window/door lock switches, I've read where several "fixed" the burnt switch contacts with "sandpaper". As Tim as alluded, this is temporary.
Why?
The switches deteriorate due...
Thank you Jan!
Sorry for the delayed response, I was driving the van's wheels off on a camping trip!
I do have one question for the Forum: for the main "Small fuse panel" in the passenger foot well - Does any one have a "map" for which is which? I don't have a cover on mine (likely where the map...
New Fuses and old:
Nope - Only the one image worked? :wall:
I don't know what is going on to upload an image properly seems haphazard.
OK I had issues on my annual hunting trip yesterday and lost nearly all the accessory Lights, and all the electrical based gauges: It still ran, and I booked 35 miles for town. made that and...
Hi Tim,
The Fuseable link is no longer listed available for 90982-08276. I just got off the phone with Toyota Parts.
For:
AM1: its not listed as 60A but 80A? (might be availability)
AM2/EFI...
That's disappointing.
I've done more research and the input shaft is o different splines. - I'm told you can swap the auto input to the hi/lo and then its a bolt in, other than the linkage.
If you are getting binding I suspect you are bottoming out the sliding spline, or its getting too "tippy fingers".
Those angles are not that critical, and not being parallel; well any load will...
As a matter of fact it is.
Headhunter, How did you get past the staking?
This ^^ And rubbing through (wear) and for road noise. if it weren't for road noise, all the suspension bushings would be bronze...
I didn't do the Bracket, but you DO need to make an adjustment there or the rear brakes lock up an bad times...
I made a modified extended link adn its finely adjustable.
The best way to get...
Here is the post of my spring mods: https://www.toyotavantech.com/forum/showthread.php?1930-30-quot-tires-and-power-Aerostar-springs&p=38662&viewfull=1#post38662
In retrospect I could have left...
I think I agree. Unless you are conversant with inspecting suspension and Steering, a competent (and Honest) shop can provide invaluable advice.
These rigs ARE on a recall for the front...
I don't think the 1/2" would make any difference whatsoever, even if not lifted. What matters is not bottoming the DS out, as that will BREAK the U-Joint. (ask me how I know...)
On the...
Probably not, but if longer it can be shortened. See my post above in this page where I used a Samurai D-Shaft.
Be sure to measure the flange bold spacing, and the centering ring. If those match...
You want a cushion there regardless of brand. metal to metal on a spring into a uni-body is a good recipe for the body cup to wear out.
You may need spring compressors, unless you release the...
Can you slide it back enough to get a hack saw blade in there and cut the bolt short?
OK, I have what I believe isa new option for for those with non-replaceable U-Joints, Especially for those with 4WD (which I would presume has a shorter DS than the 2WD...
Warning, this may not...
Same Q as you. I assume the earlier (pre 1987) 2wd vans used similar torsion bars if not the same.
The 2WD vans do ride lower, so you may get more effective lift from the springs than I did as...
Look at posts 53 and 54?
Hi Josh, Sorry for the late reply here.
I actually had to come back and trim a bit more and much higher. Mostly on the door.
Here is a pic, and its was a combination of pounding on the lower...
As long as you also have the torsion bars for the front on the earlier 2WD, I don't see why not?
Eric hasn't responded tot he thread since 5/22, and hasn't been on the forum since 6/23; I didn't get any response to a PM.:?:
I feel like this guy right now...:wall:
I'm interested in several things:
Windshield?
Sliding Door?
Interior Grab handle sin the back?
Drivers long seat belt?
PM Sent!
I MAY have found a replacement mount for the rear "engine" (Auto transmission) mount: I thought I might need one, before closer inspection showed I was OK...
If you look at the "vehicles" under...
Getting back to this - I'm NOT happy that the mods arbitrarily moved my thread start for a nice clean "How to lift the Toy van" into this thread. (When so many other "lift" threads have been left...
Are they on steady or do they flash?
I put a digital Voltmeter on and monitored and it would drop to 2/3 volts when the lights flashed, and that indicated an militant dead short somewhere. Mine...
If you are getting rid of the inside cooler box, I'm interested!
PM sent!
And still available.
PM sent:
So last weekend I finally got enough dry weather to do the lift on the new to me Project van. This allowed me to do the taller 215/75R15;s on some Samurai rims.
This is My take on the Aerostar...
And that was it! I bet I never scrolled down that far or if I did I never noticed that sandwiched in there...
:wrthy: Thanks Yah! :dance2:
Completely up to date on all my browsers.
Further testing:
Same Computer - Works fine on Firefox, but not on Chrome where its always been. Chrome is also my main browser, so very irritating...
I just rebooted and its the same chrome browser I've been using.
Some pics are not displaying that used to, and I can't seem to navigate to my settings to see if it local to me...
I'm getting a VERY basic formatting with VBulletin in the upper left corner? Some of the page and formatting tools aren't there? (I'd post a screenshot of the way it looks but I don't have the...
Thank you! definitely worth inside panel removal and getting a slapper and such inside there!
You might. But if the Masonite is in decent shape, or can he repaired if there are weak spots at the holes, For <48 for ten of them I'd get new clips from amazon.
Found the one piece clips on Amazon: Amazon clips Replacement for the Part# 90467-10188
8745
This fits MY 87 LE 4WD - YMMV...
Spring clip seems to be more difficult...
AD, could I trouble you for a pic of the wall just above the battery door? I have the lower outside metal pushed in (PO damage) and want to see if its possible to push some of it out from inside. ...
OK digging into this deeper, it's not a simple answer. On my 87 LS 4WD::
The rear door inside panel used the FLAT metal spring clips Cruiser mentioned. (I found one still stuck ion the plastic...
And a Follow up on the Steering bevel Gear:
Parts are still available, they STILL honor the recall, I have an appt with the service Dept for a week from tomorrow!
Process is: Inspection to see...
Four questions on the R&P: - EDIT - answered some of my own Q's
Will one fit the other but not vise versa, So is it OK one way, but not in the other direction? << Still an open Q
