ok I'm back by special request:rol:
I did sell my van with a fully functional hot soak fix which had been working nicely for about two years. I tried to keep it simple, kept the stock fan clutch...
I would suspect the alternator. Mine went out in Glacier Park last summer after a minor accident with a lawyer from Helena, He backed up as I was pulling into a parking spot (at maybe 20 mph) and my...
If it runs rough after you are done either you cracked the air tube or one of the many vacuum hose connections in the vicinity has slipped off
Yup I am the one who kept the stock clutch setup aNd added the pusheronthe front hooked to an. Adjustable thermosat with probeonthefuel return line. VerY happy with the setuP, comes on after...

manual or automatic shift?
hey, I've tried both the solutions that Tim "detailed". Grounding the temp sensor heloed a little but didn't completely solve the problem. Ventilation solved the problem. I kept the stock cooling...
Thanks for the comments. I changed out the O2 sensor about a year ago, and its a manual transmission, changed the transmission oil about two years ago. And yes temperature sensor, I mentioned in...

Thanks Gwen, that write-up implies that you should do the diagnosis with the engine running, but my 1987 repair manual says to do it with the ignition on but engine off.
Also my check engine...
heh, guess I should figure out how to do that
Ok I may have posted on this before but its still not resolved.
It only happens with colder outside temperatures, and I think only if the van has been in the cold for a number of days w/out being...

I assume y'all bag the alternator - any other areas need special protection with these methods (solvent first then pressure washer)?
I just drove from here in N. Idaho to Florence on the OR coast, 1250 mile trip total. I had been getting about 19 on the hwy with the yakima bars and ski rack attachment on top. I took all that off...
I'm referring to the one in Tim's diagram with the arrow pointing down, on the driver's side in my van is is actually on the engine "side" of the arm
well at least my 4WD does have grease zirks at the upper A arms but unfortunately they are oriented in such a direction that I have never been able to get a gun on them - at least not on the drivers...
Thanks Tim, I'll give it a try:thmbup:
Well I don't know, as far as I know my valve is working fine yet it takes three or four squirts to get anything out, and then sometimes it just keeps squirting when you want it to stop - think that's...
