All gone! Take care everyone.
I just made more space in the inbox. Igniter is sold. Anyone in the Portland area want some computers, oil filters?
Ok. No one wants to buy these and I don't have patience to sell them so they're free. But you have to come get them. There's also 5 oil filters, the long ones and some other parts you may want. A...
Hey folks, it's been awhile. I sold my van a couple years ago and have these extra parts i was gonna list on eBay but figured I'd check with y'all first. I'll post on eBay in a week if no one wants...
Maybe there's an independent Toyota specialist around there who's less expensive? Don't let me talk you into anything you're uncertain about
The inner axle takes 2 wrenches, one to hold the bolt while the other loosens the nut. I marked everything with a punch for reinstallation.
Probably takes a bit longer (i suppose i exaggerate sometimes) but definitely not 8 hours, that's ridiculous. I did have a friend/mechanic assist but he just agreed with what i was doing.
Is that 125$/hr!!! Say it ain't so. It's actually really quick to remove the axle- took about an hour, being slow. You just remove the wheel, then the hub (6 screws) then one big nut holding the...
Did you try this at the dealer- 04438-28022? They say they don't fit anymore on all the toyota websites but I'd bring your vin# and ask the dealer to check.
On Amazon it says it fits our(my sold...
Wipe it off and if it comes back and smells like gas, fix it-or you'll have the char broiled edition!:pissed:
Well it makes sense when you put it like that. Ok thanks for the info Gwen.
Thanks for this post. I'm trying to edit my title to change the price but I can't find the edit "button"- is there a time limit on editing or am I just not seeing the edit? I don't want to hijack...
Even easier to clear codes, disconnect the battery cable from the negative (ground or -) battery terminal for about 30 seconds-60 if you're wanting to be thorough. Don't mess with the positive...
Stone tablet-it's a paperclip! But yeah it's a very simple machine compared to my 2013 Prius-quit laughing! Just thinking if a TPS code was thrown that'd give more Credence to Tim's theory. You...
Any chance a code showed up? I watched your video again and it's definitely different-mine was like a misfire-not saying it isn't your coil though (can't see from here!). I would probably have...
That is a little different than the symptoms i had. From what i remember: When I would hit a puddle the idle would go down to like 500rpm and when i would accelerate it would hesitate/stumble/run...
Oem always seems better for Toyota but if it's an exhorbitant cost I'd get an aftermarket coil-others might weigh in here. If you're gonna be taking it out to replace it I'd check resistance on it...
JDM,
I guess I followed it up in this thread :...
Hopefully you're not losing fluid somewhere Dr.Roob-check for leaks and/or carry fluid with you in case you run low and need brakes.
These are awesome! I missed the first post on them. My van holder still works but if i ever get the other one ready to sell I'll be seeing if your strap is still available.
Oh that's okay I'm just glad I didn't destroy the inner boot in the process of removal. It's just that it's a really weird shape -one side has three flat edges and 3 rounded edges and the boot...
Update on the boots. The aftermarket outer boot made by Beck Arnley that was busted fit but the aftermarket inner boot made by Empi from partsgeek did not fit although it arrived in an impressive...
Oh thanks Flecker! I have an outer but couldn't find an inner anywhere- but there it is so that's awesome that partsgeek has it.
Hey folks! I noticed my passenger side axle boot is torn and when I went to buy the kit from toyota parts deal it says it doesn't fit for 0443828022 or the previous number. Any chance it's because...
I was gonna suggest to have it rebuilt-should be at least $1000's cheaper. Maybe it's just the brushes? Take it out and have a looksy.
I'm late to the party and I read the spark plugs were wet and they put in new injectors so I'm most likely wrong...but I had the same problem after my rebuild and it was a clogged injector. Hope I...
You can drop the tranny to access the rear main seal without moving the engine.
Well today I drove through puddles and a downpour and no problems-I'm going to attribute it to a different cap, but i also swapped distributors and made sure the drain holes were clear in the bottom...
Haven't tried it in the dark. I will though.
I've had this problem for a while. Only happens in heavy rain or going through big puddles. From What I see there's 3 holes in the distributor, 2 on the bottom and one down low on the side facing...
I would take the poor mileage for the cool a/c but unfortunately the compressor was squeeling and I can only guess that's a bad thing. In the city I'm getting about 14 with a somewhat heavy foot...
I just got a tad over 20mpg with 27x8.5x14 grabbers on a freeway trip. My a/c isn't working at the moment:cry:
Sweet van and even sweeter rims!
OEM only on this part.
Sounds like heat soak, but it's the middle of winter. Was it worse in the summer?
Codes!!!?(clear and recheck).
After warming it up try opening the "hood" and leaving it open while you do...
Not that it's your refurby starter but I had a bad one that was a bosch refurb that did weird things. If you have access to another starter that's original, try it. Otherwise it's pulling too much...
Maybe this will help?
The first pic is left(engine side washer) to right(the nut holding it on) in order going away from the engine.
The second is all the washers and bearings' backside or what...
Hey BetsyBrown, If you want to come over and look at mine you can. Is the bearing seized on yours?
I can't remember exactly but I think the pulley is between two washers that let it spin freely...
After you press the cruise button in try turning the end of the cruise lever-one way it sets the speed and the other way I think raises it. I thought mine was broken too.
I think these are the ones for it:

2 separate Toyota doughnut gaskets. I don't think the...
I'm in agreement with AD2101 on rebuilding your engine versus buying an unknown condition engine for almost half what it would cost to rebuild yours. I bought one off ebay for 900$ that said no...
Not sure it's in this thread but the lower shroud is usually missing on these vans and that makes a huge difference with cooling and clutch fan operation. I didn't even know it existed until...
It is definitely a contortion but I did use a socket wrench to turn the crank but I can't remember which size it is-pretty big one, maybe a 19mm? I don't think I removed the fan shroud but that...
Yes, cutting the a/c belt will just make the a/c not function. I cut my belt because the compressor was screaming at me:argue:.
Your distributor is probably not set to proper timing. For our vans it's top dead center on the first cylinder and the distributor has to face a certain notch. There's a few threads on here about...
Thanks Tim and PNWvan. I'll continue to work on this one. Now that it's just about summer here I have some time to play with.
I also wanted to put it out there in case other people are having...
I did the cap, rotor and both dizzy gaskets a few months ago and the problem was less but still happens on puddles and heavy rain. The wires are 2 years old and I put dielectric grease where they...
Thank you for this. I figured it was my clutch but will take a looksy.
I have finally diagnosed my acceleration/hesitation issue and it is definitely wet distributor related. I sprayed some water on the distributor and it hesitated and was very unhappy-keep in mind I...
Check your master cylinder fluid-it's the same reservoir as the master brake fluid but there's a separator in there which makes it hard to tell if one is lower than the other. It's hard to tell if...
