I'm referring to the "Washer change valve," which I understand to be the thing that the relay sits on top of, visible at the top of that same picture you referenced. I didn't realize there was also a...
My washer change valve still seems to be working, but while I have everything out to replace the rear pump, I think I'm going to replace it with something like this...mostly because I want to see if...
I tested my air valve when I had everything apart for the HG. IIRC, the valve still appeared partially closed when cold, but I was able to see it close by pouring boiling water through the coolant...
How many miles?
I just replaced my head gasket, and though I'm not overheating and the mechanic didn't sniff HCs, I still seem to have not-normal coolant behavior (not getting sucked back out of the overflow tank,...
I have no experience with starter issues, but your comment makes me wonder if you don't know how to remove the passenger side access panel? If not, search the forum - it's easy, and greatly improves...
Have you read this thread in full?
I purchased an OEM Valve Grind Gasket Kit (04112-73035), which includes the head gasket, from sparksparts.com in December for $121. I believe I remember reading...
I'll give a dissenting opinion here - I just replaced most of the coolant hoses on my van (including the hoses of death), and on the recommendation of another member here I used Gates #28408 5/16" ID...
Thanks for the ideas. It occurs to me that I could pinch the air hose that comes out of the air valve and see whether the steam diminishes - seems like that would be fairly diagnostic of a leak...
On the topic of the auxiliary air valve - has anyone ever experienced or heard of a leak developing between the coolant hose and the air hose that pass through the valve? I can imagine some sort of...
Sorry for causing confusion - I'm not the original poster; I sent a pm TO him, not you.
PM sent!
Tim, thanks for all the info!
I omitted a critical detail: the TB gasket (Toyota part #22271-73011), is now NLA. I am going to proceed with the felpro gasket paper, unless anyone can point me...
Ah excellent, I didn't notice those when I took the exhaust off. Thanks!
Can anyone shed some light on what these rings are (pic attached)? Six of them came with my Toyota head gasket kit (04112-73035), and I have no idea what they are for :cnfsd:

Hey Tim - regarding gaskets other than the head gasket -- specifically, the ones for the throttle body and the EGR -- is it acceptable to use gasket paper? I am in the process of replacing my head...
I'd love to buy one or both of the rear center caps, if they are the same as the one in this photo - plastic, made to look like the front hubs (my van has manual front hubs, not sure if the back ones...
Does anyone have a bead on where to get these currently, or have one/a set they want to sell me? I just hit a deer, and obliterated the right rear cap on my '87 4wd.
All things considered, could...
