Yep this is how I still have it. Seems to be working fine.

So I went to NAPA and told them I had a 1987 Toyota Van LE, 4WD. The pads fit great.

That seems weird….but I am no mechanic.

I am not sure how a leaky fuel injection pump would cause an oil leak. Or did he mean oil pump? If so, I would peruse ace answers….you may not have to...

Just out of curiosity did he give you any speculation as to why/how/where the oil consumption is coming from to warrant a rebuild?

Check to see if your crankshaft pulley is loose. Probably not, but I have heard rumors of this happening. It will take a 19mm socket if I recall.

Fuel Filter:
I use Fram 4922. I don't recall pulling any fuse...there is a wire with a connector that you have to disconnect going directly to the bottom fuel...
