BFH always wins. I saved and rebuilt my 89's they where in an amazingly good shape. I always try not to go Neanderthal, if I can help it, but sometime you've got to do what you've got to do.:wnk:. I...
If you want to save the boot,You could try one of these:...
I don't know how you intend to dislodge the bushing (Hydraulic Press?) it's in there pretty tight. The spacer is fused to the rubber, that is why I went slow and cooled it down every 30 second or so....
If the Ace is the same set up, the detailed answer is Post #74 of this tread.
http://www.sotond.com/Automotive-Rubber-Hose-pl3009354.html try this contact them and ask for something of the same inside diameter and roughly the same radius and for the same application (...
Nop! one box , two identical spacers, one axle.
I think the original rubber pad is more of an insulator than anything else. It prevents the metal to metal "sqwicking and clinking" , and the two parts rubbing themself to bare metal and rusting....
Man, if you have one, never mind two, regular O rings that match the length of those two guys, RUN! don't walk, to the nearest FL Lottery tickets vendor :roflmao:
Fitting a 4wd rad. in a 2wd van is a mater of brackets fabrication. The 2wd is bigger so if you use a 4wd sized rad. you will loose some cooling efficiency....
That's weird, I did a search on Fleabay before the Crapazon one and could not come up with a 4WD filter for the van.
Amazon has a boat load of camber caster bolt kits including Specialty product 25425. I do not have time to verify the fit but there are other Toyota choices as well.
In this case: New bushing = New bolts, new cam washers, new lock nuts. I have never been able to get the old bolts out without some serious damage ( what with the fight against the sawzaw) . Even if...
The boots alone are absolute NLA I don't know if they have ever been "A"valable. For the 4WD I would look for the whole ball joint for the lower and the whole arm for the upper from scrap yards, flea...
Have you tried a Flare or Tube wrench? it's open but grabs the head over 5 sides and 4 corners, minimizing the chances of striping the head.
EDIT
My bad, if you had room to slide the flare...
Careful there with PB Blaster and the heat wrench, make sure you invite Mr Fire Extinguisher to the dance :wnk:
The cat!
I had this experience on my Mini. I was tracking the car, so the cat was getting hyper-heated every week-end, the core finally got loose and turned sideways in the can. The Mini chocked...
You are making a very important point here. We always look at a project as "time and materials" and most of us forget to consider a cost for "brain cells" before calling it pricey, expensive, etc....
. If that what it was, it was a very reasonable price for a one time custom job  You would barely cover materials for that much over here!
I did a wickipedia search on photobucket, and boy, it's a wonder how this thing is still in business. Interesting read but be warned: pinch you nose before diving 'cause it stinks. Once owned by News...
MD,
You can cut them yourself easily out of a sheet of hard rubber from Mc Master-car, MSC, Graindger, or any other supply house. Just make sure you chose a high Durometer Shore A (hardness...
Dear photobucket Teddy,
This kind of words soup is what we get when corporate greed overcome the geek brain.
In your effort to purge your site of all "free" accounts, somebody wrote a wrong...
Spacecruiser, at a 6100 ft elevation, you may want to reconsider the C and look at the Turbo version of the 2C. Then It gets a bit more complicated.
I should check again but last year I found a small shop that did 3D printing, but the cad work made it so unaffordable that I gave up on it. Now they have some hand held scanners that should make it...
I recently took my wife Civic to the stealership for service, while I was waiting, the tech send me a video of him removing the AC filter zoomed on it and asked me if i would authorize replacement,...
How did the old bearings look?
I hope that does it for you once and for all
Just make sure you use these. The hedges are rolled and the slots are indents: Nothing there to cut into the rubber if slightly over...
And please post back to confirm : Worky.. No worky :wnk:
If you have smoke at that time try and use your nose to identify the smell. Rubber, brake materials and grease, all have a distinctive smell. (Easy for me to say, I could do that in my sleep) Metal...
Bad shock??? = Wheel bouncing like a beach ball, or more like an air plane doing a 1000 landing a minutes = shake and smoke! Doesn't explain the intermittence
Drive shaft CV Joi.... never mind ,...
Shacking: something is out of balance or binding. Smoking: something is overheating from chafing or binding. Not pulling to one side and intermittent : very weird indeed! You're right, it might not...
Actually, designSTUDIO, a negative offset moves the outer lip of the rim outboard, (street side). check post #27 and #28 of this thread. Also there is a small difference between the US van and the...
I don't know AD, 185 is only 10 millimeters narrower than stock but the side wall at 65% is 120 millimeters, versus 146 stock, and you have to stretch that to 7" versus 5.5"... They might mount but...
Can't wait!
:roflmao::roflmao::roflmao: If only it was that simple :rol:
There are studs in the back of the track with nuts only accessible from the inside. If your van is a cargo, No biggy! If it's a full...
What did you do to make it work? Share Please.
A little item of fairly high importance omitted, if I may:
9. Fan shroud: verify that the bottom part of the shroud is there. If not, or not sure go there...
What if you run the return line through the fuel cooler? You get a cooler tank = no pump cavitation = cooler fuel in the lines and injectors= more power, cleaner burn = less chances of hot soak :)>:...
I'm still, once in a while, tinkering in my head with the the remote bilge pump idea. So the other day I'm on this Porsche forum, here is this guy trying to cool the AC condenser with one of this:
...
Great :dance2:Hopefully you have an event-less trip. Can you take a minute to confirm after your return? please. And can anybody explain why the full return tank ???? I went to look at a van for sale...
From the look of it, the clamp has been moved once down the neck of the hose barb fitting. You can see in-prints in the rubber just above the hose clamp. This kind of clamps can mash a rubber hose...
Load sensing proportioning and by-pass valve (LSP & PV ). It adjust the front to rear brake balance depending on weight and location of the load in the van. :)
If the van has been lifted ( looking...
The blue color is what gave me the EBGBs. The Chinese are well known for no being embarrassed by such detail, or a missing letter in a name or some small change in a Logo and still claim OE branding....
Scrolled down the detail page: Country of manufacture: unknown.
Shipped from Taiwan.
I smell gas somewhere. Tim?
Is the place of origin china? That doesn't look like Japanese characters to me?
Did you get my PM?
:whs: can't beat this! #1 be safe.
Ok looks like he used the sub frame that Vanco described in a earlier post. If so don't worry about damage done to the van, that is about the strongest area of the under side of the van. It is also...
".....Also still not sure if the car was already damaged when roadside assistance changed the tire with their hydraulic jack under the front axle....."
Are you sure he used the driveshaft? It's...
