    Tire size

I realize this has probably been hashed out before but search results were vague:

Any chance in hades that I can squeeze a 205/70 tire on to my stock Yota van 14" steelies? Got 195/75 on there right now.

    Thanks!

205/70 is actually a tiny bit smaller than what you have now. It will work but throw your speedo off by about 1mph. For help determining how tire sizes compare here's a link to a tire calculator: http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

Thanks for getting back to me. That's a good point about it being shorter overall. I was just mainly concerned with a 205 fitting on the stock Toyota rim but it sounds like it will be okay. How wide are the stock base-model steel wheels, anyway? 6 inches?

The stock rim is 5 1/2" wide & the 205/70 will fit just fine. Tim
