    Flywheel

Merry Christmas other Toyota Van nuts. Does anyone know if toyota still sells the flywheel for 84 vans? I've tried all the parts stores unsuccessfully.

    Re: Flywheel

For clarification reasons I wanted to point out that manual transmissions have flywheels and auto transmissions have flexplates. Assuming it's a manual transmission, new flywheels are still available, but if you purchase from Toyota you'll be looking at around $500. Even the discount Toyota parts sites will want around $360 + some hefty shipping. FYI it's Toyota part #13405-72011

The question I have is: why do you need a flywheel? If it's just a little warped or grooved, a machine shop can likely dress it up for around $50. If it's a bad ring gear, then that can be replaced for a lot less than the entire flywheel. If the flywheel is indeed non repairable, and you cannot get a rebuild from your local parts store, then I'd go with one of these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Clutch-Flywh...a99fcd&vxp=mtr. Good luck. Tim
