Key-in-ignition warning buzzer — Is the buzzer necessary?
I reached my limit today with the buzzer and disconnected it. Are any other important systems connected to this or can I just leave it disconnected?
Perhaps there is a nicer chime or a low tone to replace that horrid buzz!

Re: Is the buzzer necessary?
So far no ill effects from just unplugging it.

I always remove these. I save almost everything that might some day have a purpose. I haven't bothered to save any of these. Good riddance!

Re: Is the buzzer necessary?
Unplugging the buzzer is usually one of the first things I do to a car. I have had others that had the clock, power window, or courtesy light contol module incorporated into the same plug or unit but my van has been unplugged for 14 years with no issues. Everything still works.

Buzzer with key in ignition
Hi everyone,
Does anybody know how to disable the buzzer when the key is in the ignition?
I found a thread about the buzzer but that only talked about any problems associated with the buzzer but not disabling the buzzer itself.
Any help is appreciated

Re: Buzzer with key in ignition
buzzer box is bottom left under dash on driver's side (at least on my 1989 van). listen for it and you'll find it. you can pull off the box held to a metal clip on it's back - just slides off. there's a small piece of metal tab that vibrates to make that annoying sound: just slightly bend out that little metal tab a little and it will stop and you won't have altered anything critical .

Re: Buzzer with key in ignition
Thanks,
I'll look for it when I get back home. I didn't see anything before so I had to ask. Is it above the blue lamp control module? If so I guess I wasn't looking hard enough.
