Shifting from 2H to 4H while moving 5 Speed manual

The transfer case will not let me shift from 2H to 4H while moving. The engine was recently taken out and put back in.

I wander if the linkage was accidentally adjusted.
I recently changed to fluid with Valvoline SAE 75w-90 Gear Oil With Limited slip, it says it meets GL5 and GL4 (possible problem incorrect fluid?). I did not test shifting from 2H to 4H while moving after the engine was reinstalled and before the oil change. So, I am not sure if this is the root of the problem.

The transfer case lets me shift from 2h->4H->4L easily while at a stop. But it grands when I try to shift from 2H -> 4H while on the move.

Any ideas? I read through the repair manual, but it does not have a trouble shooting section for TC shift grinding.

The big question here is auto or manual hubs. The only way to shift on the fly is with the hubs engaged. Easy proposition with manual hubs. Not so much with autos.
