Progress photo of rear bumper. Since this picture was taken a plate has been added to top of bumper to stand on and recovery points. Swing arm is in process. On the subject of redoing the front bash brace, fabricator is thinking not only will it protect the underside but should substantially improve rigidity of front end. toybumper.jpg

Cool, looks lighter than my square tubing one. Wish I had a tubing bender and skills. Interested to see how the swing arm attaches

I like where this is going, integrating the receiver look nice, does it cross the chassis rear member? How are you going to reach the pin?

Ok, been awhile. Van is back home. Ended up reinforcing the front bar a lot in comparison to Roy's design.
1.5" DOM tubing underneath and 1.75" for hoop.

Here are a couple of the finished front bumper. Stellar Built out of Sacramento, relocated under bumper lights to bar. Very happy with the result

Damn, this is some slick looking work... how much did it cost you for the front and rear bumpers altogether?

@Bikerjosh... Do you remember how much Stellar Built charged you for all that work? I'm looking to do something similar.

I want to say that all the front work was about $400, and the rear bumper w/swing out was $1k.
Funny thing is I am driving up to meet the owner to have him look at modifying the bull bar on my 93' Delica to support a winch and recovery points. Vans.jpg

. If that what it was, it was a very reasonable price for a one time custom job You would barely cover materials for that much over here!

Re: Is Roy Meyers still making push bars?

Yeah, I was surprised the front was so cheap given how much work they did on the front. Pretty impressive how the front under body design came out. He made it to withstand dropping the weight of the van on the front and protect the underside of body and engine.
Sad post script to this thread, Van will be up for sale soon to make room for other projects.

You are making a very important point here. We always look at a project as "time and materials" and most of us forget to consider a cost for "brain cells" before calling it pricey, expensive, etc. Good man!
