    Bulbs for fog lights???

Ok, so making some progress on this project, wiring harness done, relay mounted, just need to connect the switch wiring wise.
Went to pop the new bulbs in H7 (not sure if I got that from owners manual or internet) anyway bought both a set of halogen and LED bulbs to see which I liked better. Both are too big to drop into the base for the light.

Anyone running fogs who has replaced the bulbs? If so what did you use?

I'm in the middle of cutting the outer metal flange of bulb w/dremel to get them to drop into housing. Didn't want to modify the housings as long as it took to find some.

    Thanks Josh

Edit: got impatient and went ahead with it.

So are the H7 bulbs the correct bulb but for some reason just too big?

    How do they look?

    Thank you

That was the closest bulb I could find to the original. Look good, but yellow against the LED headlights and under the bumper LEDs. Eventually I'll try and find an LED replacement that will fit so the color temp of lights will be closer.
    I'll post a pic later.-J

Forget how they look! How do they work in the legendary Californian fog?

Carbonized you always have good jokes!!

But as for the bulbs (lamps- proper electrician term) which brand did you use, I was search on line and but the ones Iíve noticed arenít of any specific name brand, for example-

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/2x-H7-4300K...xXIybC&vxp=mtr

and theyíre cheap of a set. Being that they are 80w LEDís and the housing shows that it accommodates a 12v 35w bulb is that ok? Sorry I donít know how all that electrical stuff works.

    Thank you

Re: Wiring OEM fog lights and oem switch into van

    Bikerjosh,

Iím just adding to your write up another option that can be used with slight modifications-

I went with these Noyka H3C Halogen Nok7659 bulbs because they seemed to be the closest to OEM with very slight modifications.

    Both bulbs-
OEM is clear white 35w bulb
    A/M is yellow 55w bulb

    Side view

Side by side A/M bulb is fatter at the base

Housing does need slight modification, crimp the piece thatís boxed in red so the bulb can drop all the into housing.

This piece on the bulb (red box) is to small so the housing needs to be modified.

This is the OEM bulb clamped down, once the housing is modified the A/M bulb should drop in place and the clamp will hold the bulb in place even though it has a fatter base.

I just replaced my fog light bulbs and the H3C should drop right in. Do a search on eBay and you will get a handful of options.

As far as brand goes... China? I got them from this eBay dealer

    https://m.ebay.com/itm/HALOGEN-H3C-6...-/131547822469

They were 9 bucks, fit right up and havenít had any issues with em.

Good deal on price, I paid double. They look like the same as what I got but mine arenít seating in the housing completely without pinching the spot thatís highlighted in photo up above.

    Nice job

Re: Wiring OEM fog lights and oem switch into van

So I removed the entire headlight assembly that holds the lights to try and remove trim ring screws with no luck. But I did find that my LE that didnít originally come with fog lights has a pre-wired pigtail for fog-lights!!

Not only do I have the pigtail wire for the fog lights but upon further inspection I found the foglight wiring relay in a cluster of relays located behind the panel thatís right above the right knee!!

You probably will... my bare bones Cargo Van has the pigtails also. As well as a relay.
