    Window Channel Replacement Parts

Does anyone know what is the part number for the window channel on drivers side door. I found the part number for the front right in the collision part catalog.

I'm having trouble rolling the window down without separating the channels from the frame in the corners of the door. It's getting harder to crank that window down every time I close it. . Soon or later I'll suffocate in the summer heat while driving.

I think DS & PS take the same channel. The part number I came up with was 68141‑87006. I haven't tried to get one of these yet, but would almost be surprised if they are still available. I tried several times to get the channels for the side slider windows and finally gave up. Good luck. Tim

Driver's side and passenger side are identical. The part was available last summer; I got several.

    Re: Window Channel Replacement Parts

Hey guys thanks for responding back. Sorry for the late reply I've been avoiding my van for awhile because I think I might have a leaking head gasket as well. Anyways, I just check the prices for one channel and it was like $72 from toyotapartszone.com. Ouch!

Does anyone know where to get a cheaper one?

Found this full parts list on eBay for pretty cheap. They email it after purchase.. and you can print it out as well as keep it on your comp.

That "list" is the Collision Catalog, and it is located FREE right here in the ToyotaVanTech.com library! Downloadable PDF format, so you can keep it on your own computer, too.

    Re: Window Channel Replacement Parts

1985 Toyota Van. I looked through the collision catalog but can't verify the part. Two things I need help with.

1, Both windows only roll down 3/4, there's like a child safety lock on both sides. It makes it annoying so you can rest your elbow on the door when the window is down. Is there anyway to remedy this?

    2. The spindle that you put the window crank on is stripped from someone using a wrench on it. So any new window crank I put on it gets stripped out. Can I just replace this spindle part? What's it called?

    Thanks

Are you referring to the driver and passenger windows? They don't go all the way down because the door isn't big enough to fit them.

Normally to replace that you need to replace the entire window regulator. I'm not sure if that spindle is available by itself.

    Re: Window Channel Replacement Parts

Is window regulator the correct term for the part? I'm having a hard time finding it. I see electrical window regulators. I have someone parting out a 1985 toyota van and I need to make sure I tell him the right part. Do you know what a fair price may be?

    Re: Window Channel Replacement Parts

Search 'window regulator' and you should find a two or three entry thread for with a URL for a manufacturer who is making or sourcing these. 1985 to 1989 I believe all regulators (manual) are the same. I have used parts yard 1985 in my 1989 before ($35.00). The 'spindle' is not a replaceable part to the best of my knowledge. These just wear out at about 15-20 years old (depending on use / abuse).
