    92 Alltrac overdrive issue

92 Previa Alltrac automatic, tries to shift into overdrive before it reaches the correct temp, just does it over and over again. Once it reaches correct temp it's fine, or if I manually turn it off and back on after ive been driving a few minutes its fine also. Anyone know what would cause this issue?

    Thanks

I had a similar issue on my 93 2WD. Check your coolant temp sensor on your head. It’s located under the passenger access panel. My connector was broken and causing the trans to not stay in O/D. It would shift in and out constantly. Also I believe the Alltrac has a trans fluid sensor. It’s located near the lines attached to the transmission. If you have broken connections or failing sensors, this could be the cause of your issue.

    Hope this helps.

I replaced the temp sensor a few thousand miles ago. I will have to look into the trans fluid sensor.
