Those wires would be white with a blue stripe and yellow.
Yes it is code 21 then 22. I replaced the oxygen upstream o2 sensor and the coolant sensor is in process but ther seems to be a color variance on the cooling system wires. The reservoir wires are both solid yellow and connect to a solid red and a white with blue stripe. The cut wires that I can't figure out are solid brown and solid white. I took a video of a junk yard engine and it looks like it may be for an o2 sensor near the manifold but my van doesn't have that sensor and the manual doesn't show it either. I am wondering if maybe this wiring harness came off a different van. Just a guess though.

    Blue box behind glove box?

Anyone know what this blue box is behind the glove box and next to the cornering light relay switch??
I've taken apart a few Van dashes before but don't recall seeing this?? I was stressed for time today so I couldn't get as busy as I like to.

    Check it out

Could it be a component of the cruise control system? I was thinking about doing a swap and the diagram showed a part in that area.

Nice man if you come up with the schematic for confirmation that would be great!!!

Its a OEM part for sure cause it's connected to bracket that doesn't look like an after market part.

    Thank you

Re: Blue box behind glove box?

Awhile back, I found a schematic online that appeared to show two different systems for the cruise control components, one for the manual and another for the automatic van. I have a manual van with cruise control that I think has a cruise control part, like the one you describe. But I never the did the transfer because my receiving van is automatic. I looked for the parts schematic again but could only find one that does not show the two different systems. I can't confirm the identity of the part, sorry.

Need either a parts diagram or part number for a temperature sender

    Hi there.

Found a broken plug on a temp sender on my filler neck today. There are 3 sensors screwed into this neck I can't find a parts diagram on-line anywhere. Here is the picture:

    Its a 1988 automatic 2wd 4YEC engine.

    Thanks!

That picture is super awesome and the person who added the tags did a super nice job. There are however some minor terminology errors (he's calling the part you need a switch, when in fact it is a sensor). There is a thermistor inside of it that talks to the ECU (very important to have a good one). I haven't checked his part numbers to verify, but I assume they are correct.

For that sensor, so far I've only used Napa part #TS5520 (around $15) and the OEM Toyota part #89422-12010 (around $80). In my experience, the Napa sensor has worked fine. I've been running the $15 Napa one on my 86 LE for the last 60k miles and that van runs sweet. Tim

Re: Need either a parts diagram or part number for a temperature sender

    Fantastic!

Napa On-line doesn't actually show that part. I had tried them before posting here. But I believe that. I have had a lot of trouble with this older vehicle simply not having all of its parts listed in on-line catalogs.

Glad it is the temp sensor that's broken. Those other 2 switches are about $150 a piece.

    Thanks guys.

BTW, if you need it, a standard Bosch fuel injection connector works with this sensor. It's a common connector, can be found at pretty much any auto parts store, and is made by several manufacturers. That sensor is not polarity sensitive (doesn't matter what order the wires are in). Tim

    Radiator sensor help

I was replacing some hoses today when I accidentally bumped into a sensor near the radiator cap....causing the wire to snap off I'm a relatively new van owner and was wondering if someone could help identify what exactly this sensor is for...and where I could potentially order a replacement. I have included a picture below...it it the black plastic one in the middle (with the broken green wire next to it) hope this helps!

    Re: Radiator sensor help

If I understand correctly, it is a temperature switch that's job is to help prevent "hot soak" by inducing a temporary increase in fuel pressure at start-up when engine is hot. I believe it is Toyota part # 89428-20050. You can probably replace it for about $100, repair the wire, or live without it just fine.
p.s. I hope one of the hoses you're replacing is the kinked small hose to the coolant reservoir tank

    Van Allen,

Thank you for the info!! I tried to repair it myself but didn't have much luck...so I think a new part is in order! And I am replacing that hose along with the lower rad hose today good lookin' out though! I appreciate your reply.

Re: Anyone know what this is?

Interesting, I've only seen those in the 1st gen cargo vans (which also have rear coil springs rather than leaf springs).

Ballast is as good a term as any; I forget the Toyota term. I removed mine.

    Gwen

EDIT: Toyota calls it the Rear Floor Balancer.

    Distributor cap gasket

My new cap didn't come with a gasket and I can't find one-although one Toyota dealer sells it with the cap. Anyone found one? I saw some guys on youtube use RTV to seal it but that'd be hard to get off when I replace the cap the next time.

Toyota part #s (identical for all years of US Vanwagons) per the EPC diagram:
