Tip of my wiper switch arm started melting.

The button on the tip melted on my 87' van. There is cruise control on that arm, but it was smoking from the switch to engage the rear washer fluid. I turned the key off and pulled that fuse and drove home. I wasn't using anything on that circuit at the time. Just wondering if anyone has ever had this problem? Thanks

Switch was bad. Put in a used one and it works now.
