    2 contacts on sliding door

any idea what this does - mating contacts on slider when closed? It doesn't seem to affect the door light on dash or the dome lights (?)

The "door open" sensor for the slider door is located at the rear side of the slider opening, on the body.

    Do you have power locks?

yup, I know where the "door open" one is and it is working fine. This is at the front of slider as shown in pics.

    Yes, auto locks.

Please don't make ME go outside and see if the slider door power lock no longer works with the slider door open. I prefer troubleshooting my own problems (of which I have plenty).

ha! - so are we saying that the 2 contacts have to do with the power locks?

My side door power lock "thunks" nicely, but it actually does NOT lock the side door - so that was already on my list.

Pretty sure that these are for the lock.

Our door sometimes doesn't close fully, and then the power lock doesn't work.

If I reopen and close it properly, lock works.
