    Sold!
    - Brake reservoir cap
    - Both front seat belts
    - All headlight frames
    - Front door hinges (both sides)
    - Long lower orange front light (passenger side)
    - Rear hatch interior handle and hardware

I gotta say, you guys rock! This van is starting to look pretty bare, but there's still a lot of parts I know would love a new home! I cleared some room in my inbox, so keep those part requests coming!

If you can get an accurate reads of that device's part no's and maker I'd bet we can find the source device and get you setup. its either a transistor or voltage regulator as a guess.

Hey! I tried to find this part under the steering wheel this morning, no dice. Are you able to help me zero in more on where exactly you found this part? I'm wondering if it might not be OEM and it was something aftermarket.

If you haven't already, you ought you pull all the various "plug ins" like relays, and stuff under the dash. Easy to store and we can ask by P/N and color...

Maybe the Brake booster/reservoir and what not. Anything that is plastic and in good shape...

Good idea, before I kick out the front windshield I plan on pulling the rest of the relays, electronics, and the plug-ends. I hopefully have someone locally who will buy the complete HVAC system off me so I need to snag all of that as well. Rest assured, I'm not leaving any meat on the bones with this one!

Does your van have auto or manual transmission cause there’s a slight difference in the steering rack.

If the van still has the steering bevel gear you should call the Stealership, give them the vin#
and have them lookup whether or not the steering bevel gear was replaced by the recall.

If so, that's a good unicorn part to keep/sell.

That recall is still open on it according to carfax so it doesn't look like it :(

    Re: Parting out 4x4 TV

Four questions on the R&P: - EDIT - answered some of my own Q's

    1. Will one fit the other but not vise versa, So is it OK one way, but not in the other direction? << Still an open Q
    2. On the recall has it expired? - Edit the Edit - Surprisingly, it has NOT expired! - after 15 yrs they don't HAVE to honor it... (But can extend it)
    3. What was the issue? The steering bevel gear assembly may have water contamination which could lead to rust/corrosion.
    4. Was it all years & models, 84-89? Just 4WD 87-89? - Certainly my 87 4WD was recalled - Only recall it had though - Now to call Toyota dealer and see if they honor it.. toy recall site- 1986, 1987, 1988 MY Vans and Cargo Vans Steering Bevel Assembly. And YES, apparently they will honor it, - putting that to the test!

New Q: is this "Steering Bevel Gear assembly" the box under the steering column that turns the steering shaft back to the R&P? Edit: After review of the FSM and the van, apparently so.

Looks like the heater control (spider) is still all there. I would be interested in that please.

    Re: Parting out 4x4 TV

And a Follow up on the Steering bevel Gear:

Parts are still available, they STILL honor the recall, I have an appt with the service Dept for a week from tomorrow!

Process is: Inspection to see what parts are needed. Order parts, (I suspect if no rust is observed they just replace any gasket needed) and then schedule the replacement - If it needs the box replaced, I'l bet that has to be shipped from Japan...

Summary from the Toyota web site: and again this is for the 86-88 vans.

    May 30,1989
    Manufacturer Recall Number K01
    NHTSA Recall Number 89V089
    Recall Status- Recall Incomplete
Summary - The steering bevel gear assembly may have water contamination which could lead to rust/corrosion.
Safety Risk - This could cause erratic steering, which could result in an accident.
Remedy - Replace steering bevel gear assembly; cover liquid gasket material with improved material.

Re: PARTING OUT: 1987 4x4 TV (Automatic LE)

    Howdy.
Does your non-rolling bucket of Ferrous Oxide there have a 2 spd TC underneath it, perchance?

And if so, how many arms and legs would it set me back?

    Thanks,,,Dusty

Alas, it has but a single speed transfer case, good luck in your quest!

    Re: Parting out 4x4 TV

AD, could I trouble you for a pic of the wall just above the battery door? I have the lower outside metal pushed in (PO damage) and want to see if its possible to push some of it out from inside. This saves me ripping the inside panels off unless its going to actually help.

Too bad the sliding door is gone. Mine also has that lower panel damage (probably big city parking lot damage...), and I'd like to see if that has access.

Any chance you have this part? - plastic box with big plus sign on it. small bolt inside plastic needs to be securely fastened to the plastic. Mine wiggled free and bolt is floating now.
