Gauge cluster lit up like a Christmas tree!

So I got my new axle in and on the first test drive, after a few miles my cluster lit up all the warning lights.Charge,Radiator,Oil,Temp.I checked the volts at the battery and it was 10.83 and falling, which tells me the Alt failed. The battery i used wasnt the greatest but i did have it on the charger before i left.Awesome to have my van back on the road after waiting three months and finally getting the front axle but now i have to deal with this. Will a Altertator from a 87 4x4 toyota pu work as ther is one at my local salvage yard.
